Re: Heroarchy is Fascism
It was well known that Antisemitism was their defining trait. Problem many people in Allied countries didn't see that as a big problem.hammerofglass wrote: ↑Sat Apr 01, 2023 3:51 am Casablanca came out in 1942. To the degree the greater evils of Nazism were known to the outside world at all they were dismissed as over the top propaganda.

Re: Heroarchy is Fascism
I made a thread about Steve shives’s video dissecting the general claim that Batman is fascist, if you’re familiar with any of that.

Re: Heroarchy is Fascism
Naziism in theoretical practice had a lot to do with the science they employed, which is not specifically fascist.
The term was applied to them after the fact, and symbolizes a more inane take on peasantry or something. Like a backwardness insult or something.

I made a point to actually mention any American Comic Book Superheroes in the OP. Even in what I do mention I am not absolutely condemning anything it's about how Fascist ideas don't emerge form a vacuum.
On the subject of Batman it's primarily Miller's take on the character that has poisoned the well.

Re: Heroarchy is Fascism
OK so here is the Achilles’ heel of focusing on heroism in attempt to give nuance to fascism, given that fascism is held to the same dilemma of other general philosophically inquisitive subject matters, such as ethics, morals, even politics, etc.
You can better put the framework of a sports team in the narrative, and it better drives the understanding of what fascism expects of even the individual. Fascism does not expect you on the individual level to better the nation, in that order. It expects you true individual to partake in the system that specifically supports the national pursuit.

Re: Heroarchy is Fascism
Because individual prosperity is largely overshadowed by the measure of contribution in Fascist dictation. Heroism is always fighting for individual prosperity.
Heroism draws utterly from modernistic detail, and you can’t separate modernistic detail out of anything left/right completely. Fascism draws utterly on the system and does just that.

It's not actually, the Glory of the Individual Great Man is part of Heroarchy but it's also the Heroism of every individual soldier on the battle field who's individual may not be remembered. Your objections to this thesis are based on a limited understanding of what Hero means.BridgeConsoleMasher wrote: ↑Sun Apr 02, 2023 2:20 pm Heroism is always fighting for individual prosperity.

Re: Heroarchy is Fascism
Webster's dictionary defines a hero as "a person who is admired for great or brave acts or fine qualities." They're admired, they're not forgotten. There's nothing essential about either blending in or being a soldier in modern consideration of a hero. Heroism in the scope of a battlefield does ring in classical depiction, but that's not necessarily pertinent.MithrandirOlorin wrote: ↑Sun Apr 02, 2023 2:27 pmIt's not actually, the Glory of the Individual Great Man is part of Heroarchy but it's also the Heroism of every individual soldier on the battle field who's individual may not be remembered.
