So you’re saying that there should be no narrative attention or context if someone dies?MithrandirOlorin wrote: ↑Thu Apr 06, 2023 6:25 pmI reject that premise.BridgeConsoleMasher wrote: ↑Thu Apr 06, 2023 5:38 pmas death is important in any story.MithrandirOlorin wrote: ↑Wed Apr 05, 2023 11:59 pm I'm not actually proposing a definition so much as a common ancestor. What was your interpretation of that snippet?
I get you might have thought I meant that death is necessary in a story, but that’s far from the only take one could make.
Also, just thinking about a military story where death isn’t embellished in the narrative, much less just not having death in a military premise, seems less considerate of the narrative.

Re: Heroarchy is Fascism
Heroism is a lot older than fascism. On top of that, they concern rather different subjects. And despite the consistency, it’s rather clear the distinction. Good day.

That's literally my starting Premise, looking for what Fascism was before it manifested with that name.

Ahh. Interesting.MithrandirOlorin wrote: ↑Fri Apr 07, 2023 12:01 amThat's literally my starting Premise, looking for what Fascism was before it manifested with that name.
I mean, thinking of the movie Troy, the side that Achilles is on are all fascists so to speak. At least when comparing them to the Trojan depiction in the movie that showed them as more enlightened and yeah they're not the belligerents.
I think it'd technically be more suitable to say that Fascism is Heroarchy instead of the other way around.

Let me explain it like this, the issue is think the traits that make an Action Hero are also the traits that make a leader.

Yeah, I had picked up on that at the time of my last post, sorry. Fascism is Heroarchy would be a more suitable title.MithrandirOlorin wrote: ↑Fri Apr 07, 2023 1:45 amOnce again I'm not saying all Hero stories are Fascist.BridgeConsoleMasher wrote: ↑Fri Apr 07, 2023 12:56 amAhh. That kind of "strongest fighter leads the group" thing is so old Chimps inherited it too. That's less an ideology and more an inherent flaw in human nature.
