There was a fun video game in 1986, where you control a monster who climbs up apartment buildings, breaks in, and eats people.
Rampage, the movie, opens in April 2018.

Was he? I'll have to go and look. I'm used to him being purple/blue. Now he looks like Joss Whedon.

I almost forgot this was even happening then a trailer dropped this morning.

I'm only familiar with the source material as far as that I've heard of it and I might have seen some of it on Sci-Fi Saturday Anime twenty years ago without knowing what it was, but all that people commenting on it seem to want to talk about is the design choice regarding her eyes.

Re: Upcoming Films
I rather liked the anime OVA, and am honestly saddened at the manner in which it simply ends after two episodes, and that it is impossible for it to ever be finished. Part of me is happy to see a new adaptation of it, but I can't help but be nervous given the current success rate of adaptations of this type. Also, the uncanny valley... just... why didn't they just give her a normal face like the other cyborgs we see in the same trailer. I haven't read the original manga source material, but looking at the Wiki article, and from what I remember of the anime, I'm pretty sure she was supposed to be a cyborg and not a straight-up cyborg. Her appearance was simply in line with the art style of most manga and anime, yet hear it looks like they're trying to emulate it. Why? All they're doing is showing how freaky anime characters would look if they were "real" instead of cartoon characters.

Re: Upcoming Films
I've read the manga, including the more recent "Last Order" where Alita begins to travel into the wider Solar System. She is originally from Mars, and is essentially a brain in a jar...so her facial construction could be based on Martian expectations. HOWEVER in the opening of the original manga it was implied that the man who found and repaired her (Dr. Daisuke Ido) wanted her to be his precious Doll or good little girl...but realized he wasn't treating her as a human and thus allowed Alita to find her own way. If the movie ends with her being given a stronger body and a less doll like face...then they actually incorporated that aspect of the manga into the plot.
