"Go woke, go broke" is very much an attempt to manifest a trend that doesn't exist. With very few exceptions the target for advertising is people under 50 and especially people 18-34.
Companies do these campaigns because:
A) The 18-34 demographic is both very progressive and has much larger share of minorities compared to older generations.
B) It spreads super easy. A one minute promotional tiktok has been one of the major national talking points for weeks.
C) A lot of the people who bitch about this shit are rubes. The over priced Ultra Right beer that they're buying is more likely than not produced by anheuser busch as not only do they produce about a 1/3 of all beer, but they own the trade mark on Ultra for beer.
Go woke go broke outside movies doesn't work at all. All of those boycotts where a game or company does something that fell under 'woke' didn't work at all. I mention movies because usually lately alot of movies that under 'being woke' seems to be failing. Could it really be that? Could it be something else? Sure.
There is some guy that is trending on him dumping all of his Jack Daniels because they went woke too. Good luck on trying to find a company that hasn't gone woke because that term seems to be so varied and loose that you can basically make it sound like:
"Anything that isn't a straight white male who isn't a liberal, loves guns, listens to country and loves his country unconditionally is woke"
"Everyone who isn't ME or isn't exactly like ME is 'Woke' and, thus, "wrong" and is only doing it to spite ME, specifically." -The Far-Right, paraphrased
Yep.
Some trace this whole new woke thing back to the all female Ghostbusters but honestly it's been around for a long time. Just called different things. Pc culture and all that.
Starting to see the beginning of the "hey maybe we shouldn't be antagonizing a big Republican donor" backlash, so I'm guessing this gets dropped and never mentioned again in another day or two.

One brainless extreme to the other really. The "anti-woke" stuff is mostly a backlash against self-righteous idiocy by people that would've been right on the bandwaggon of the sort of former dogma they condemn, but unsurprisingly the first to latch on to that are the knuckledragging predjudiced in a different way thugs. I've massive contempt for both extremes, but the former seem to have managed to steal the socially acceptable corner for now. If that swings the other way about what is right and good the same sort of people will be cheering that on.

Believe me, dude, I hate internet warriors. However, I also note that "woke" is used pretty permissively against a lot of stuff that is pretty weak tea.

I have to say that your Moderate insights are much more suitably moderate than I'm used to on the internet.
The left tends to more judge society holistically and determine anti-woke to be more of a weight dragging everybody down, and then tend to reduce the world into a "for us/against us" dichotomy, while the anti-woke tends to point fingers at the most insufferable people and define leftism as that.
But that's not everything of course. The points we're discussing delve into serious matters of policy. And all too common it's not so much the social cost that's being judged, but the people that represent the cause. That's basically an essential issue that I think is awarded to the left more than the right. That's in consideration of the underlying arrogance that might penetrate the respective sides.
90% of the time "woke" in the conservative sense is just "acknowledging people exist that the anti-woke don't want to exist". That's all Bud Light did.

It's like any fandom, they like what they like and it's just a matter of what issues are going to permeate their media sphere. And it's certainly indicative of people that don't understand what woke means. But at that point it is like apples and oranges. These aren't people that are voting on behalf of principle integrity, and that's not disputed by either side.

Exactly. If you are not them, then you are "wrong". And the fact that that seemingly everyone is making a point of being "wrong" is filling them with both terror AND rage.

Come on now. That describes both sides. JK Rowling, Trump and abortion are amazing examples of this if you want to find a left wing forum to experiment on.

...you know, with how deep in the conservative media silo you are dismissing dislike of Rowling and Trump as irrational and having no idea what people are actually mad about is just expected.
Throwing abortion in there when so many have already suffered and died from the bans I'm genuinely shocked by. I thought you were better than that.
