By economic theory it is putting your labor force into overdrive which increases gdp but is unsustainable nonetheless.Madner Kami wrote: ↑Sun May 28, 2023 6:53 pmOh, right. I wanted to drop a line on that, too. Russia is considering the 6-day work week (without monetary compensation, of course). That's not a sign of an infinite horde of bodies to throw at their problems.Frustration wrote: ↑Sun May 28, 2023 6:44 pmHow many of those Russians are of an appropriate age to be drafted? How much of Russia's economy is Russia willing to sacrifice by pulling those people out of whatever they were going and sending them to the front?

Do they want another socialist revolution? Because that's how you get another socialist revolution.

Hold a gun to the heads of a person's loved ones, and you'd be surprised how little they're unwilling to do.BridgeConsoleMasher wrote: ↑Tue May 30, 2023 3:36 am I can't believe the people have voted for him time and again.

Drone attack in Moscow, a few injuries.

Russia is claiming it was a Ukrainian attack, which if true would mean either Russian air defenses completely failed to detect them all the way from the border to Moscow (~750 km) or that Ukrainian forces are operating a drone fleet entirely unchallenged well inside Russia.

At that point you're probably better off admitting you have a growing problem with domestic groups out to destabilize the government, it manages to look less bad than the catastrophic military incompetence if it was actually Ukrainian military/intelligence.

Pictures and videos from the drones indicate, it was the Ukrainians. Their rather distinctive "Beaver"-drones are hard to mistake. So yes. They flew all the way from Ukraine to Moscow unharmed, uninterrupted and unnoticed and then the Russians killed all 10, or sometimes all 15 of the 25 or 30 drones reported by their media.hammerofglass wrote: ↑Tue May 30, 2023 9:21 pm Drone attack in Moscow, a few injuries.

The funniest part? I mean, beyond the wildly disparate reporting in their media? The drones didn't hit anything remarkable and every single picture revealed thus far, only shows impacts that are not at all looking as if the drones impacted and exploded, but just parts of them coming down or crashing against buildings, after having been hit or jammed. So not only did these drones fly all over Russia to Moscow, they also only did damage because the Russians shot them down. The way it looks to me, this was a trolling by Ukrainians and a message saying: We could. Attack us again like in the last few days and we'll pull through and bring the war to the Kremlin's doorstep. And all the while, the Russians now revealed the positions of their AA-units in and around Moscow. This is comedy-gold of the highest order.
