You don't need to thanks to the Dark Knight Strikes Back Again, been a long time since I read it but I'm pretty sure they took out a mountain.

A comic generally not very well regarded given that it's a not very good follow up to one of the best comics period. Saying that it does have in my opinion one of the very best uses of the Atom. It's up there with his use in the Justice League cartoon.

Like a pairing between Spider Man and Gwen Spider Woman would make for some really complex sex positions. Or the sheer power of Superman and Wonder Woman going at it. Imagine them just letting lose.

The other is the potential offspring. Amazonian Kryptonian. Would a Spider Man and Gwen kid just basically be a Spider Boy/Girl of equal power or maybe they would be stronger.
Wonder Woman is not Supergirl. She is implied to be significantly weaker than him. Why would Superman's equal need gauntlets to block bullets?

His thrust would still break her pelvis. Break, but not ''turn to dust'' as it would with Lois.

DCAMU shipped Clark and Diana. Only lasted for one movie and I wish they stuck with that instead of doing Superman and Lois for Reign/Return of Superman.

I'd think you could come up with a better example for someone whom Superman could bone more practically.

I am bewildered by how much thought you put into that topic overall. I mean, I put a lot of thought into technology, lore, personal profiles and other completely meaningless shit in fictional settings (more than any sane person should these days, given how "canon" is generally treated) and yet I can't help but think: Don't you do anything else in your spare time? You post almost exclusively about shipping and it leaves me befuddled. And I don't mean that as an offense, really, everyone has their kinks and interests, "Jedem Tierchen sein Pläsierchen" as we say here (a more poetic and less historically loaded version of "To each their own"), I am genuinely curious why you choose this topic so exclusively.

I admit I have a lot of contempt for the "I just don't GET Superman and Wonder Woman" argument. It always comes off as disingenuous to hide their shipping of Lois and Clark or the equivalent in Spider-Man and Mary Jane. Yes, you can absolutely love Lois and Clark or Spider-Man and Mary Jane. However, that doesn't mean you can't like Barbara Gordon and Nightwing or Spider-Man and Black Cat. There's a genuine refusal to engage with Superman and Wonder Woman that comes from writers being snide little bastards who refuse to actually try to deal with the material.

Why would Superman and Wonder Woman work? Is it because they're the two strongest people on Earth? Maybe. Is it also possible that readers might be interested because they're also two Lawful Good moral paragons? Maybe that's why the writers are afraid of them. They fear that pairing them loses their "cheap" storytelling. You can't endanger Diana, you can't have Superman hide his secret identity, and you can't have her depicted as a wet blank whining over him choosing the mission over her. They are couple that would UNDERSTAND each other's mission. Maybe that would make them boring but there's plenty of other places to take the story.

Why would people like Miles and Gwen?

Well, the obvious answer is because they have both had their lives shit on horribly by their secret identities. It's nice to "throw the dog a bone" and have both of them have someone that they can actually confide in. Spider-Gwen doesn't have a secret identity in the comic verse but I believe that was a mistake and there's no way she could fight crime after that (which was why moving her to 616 was necessary). In the movies, though, they're two lost souls reaching out to one another and the struggles of their respective responsibilities.

Out of universe, it's also good that we don't have a Rey/Finn "Disney can't stand interracial couples" thing going on. Luke Cage couldn't be with Jessica Jones. Note that they broke up Zendaya and Tom Holland too. Iron Fist couldn't be with Misty Knight (but could be with an Asian woman--thanks, Disney :sarcasm:) but Sony is willing to have a white woman with a black man and GOOD FOR THEM. The fact it's as iconic a pair as Gwen Stacy and Spider-Man is also important.

Add to that was the total lack of chemistry. Finn had significantly more onscreen spark with Poe, but of course that was never going to happen to the point that they felt they had to add a random ex of Poe's in the third film to emphasise his heterosexual credentials.

Not saying that they did much better with the actual Rei pairing. Her getting flustered when they had that connection when he was shirtless was kinda cute/amusing but that was about it.

For about the two minutes they were on-screen together (for those of you who don't know, Poe was originally meant to die which is why he is basically not in the film). They could have done something in TLJ but... Rian Johnson happened.

I think Finn and Rey had good ''brother/sister'' chemistry, which went along nicely with ''daddy'' Han. They have some cute interactions together. I hate the prequels but I will sing the praises of the first half of TFA. It really isn't that bad. Rey the lone scavanger looking for her parents, Finn the ex brainwashed stormtrooper, Han the pirate who is trying to stop his son. There is a story there - pity Rian Johnson happened.

The show Luke Cage in season 2 touched on a implicit homosexual relationship between two guys reminiscing about prison. While the episode itself was the most overly padded out of all the Netflix MCU with a runtime of over an hour (for an episode 8 or 9 of 13 no less), that plot particularly deserved the attention it got.

As penance for undoing the mess that Peter himself created - One More Day done right. If you think that tragedy is due to racism then I don't know what to tell you. Oh, and she's back for the sequel. I predict with 95% certainty that the mind wipe will be undone.

True, but I somehow don't have the impression that this is meaningless to Winter and that this is actually something that bums her.
