Haven't we already had this storyline?

The sound on the trailer being five seconds from sync doesn't fill me with confidence.
The Shadows swarming and getting slaughtered like Starship Troopers Bugs seems an odd choice.

Re: Babylon 5 The Road Home
I can't decide if I want to jump for joy or shake my head and groan.
First, what is the point of having the original characters if the actors are dead? Second it seems like they are more interested in referencing the best scenes from the show instead of actually doing something with the IP.
I will buy it as it is probably going to be my last chance to see any new Babylon 5 content, especially animated, but I am not optimistic.

Babylon 5: In Name Only, coming to a streaming service near you.
I was all behind a reboot btw. If done PROPERLY there is a lot it could say about the 2020s - arguably it already DID say a lot about the 2020s back in the 1990s. But this? Nah.

I think the reason why they decided to do some rehash of a nearly 30 year old story that all of us knows is to generate interest for B5 and possibly bring in new fans.
I would suggest we all buy it as it would indicate there is interest in the show. Of it under performs it might kill a reboot before it even happens.

Re: Babylon 5 The Road Home
The more I think about this, the more I dislike it tbh.
I am so sick of multiverses and time travel. Its everywhere right now and it never makes any sense or is convoluted as heck. They could have done anything with this and they chose something this generic.
And as mentioned above, half the cast is dead. Reminds me of that Futurama joke on the Star Trek episode which was made after Jimmy Doohan had died. ''Kirk! Spock! Welshy?'' (also note that Deforest Kelly had also died and he too had no lines).

They did fall relatively quickly when Londo confronted Mr. Morden. But then, they weren't expecting it.hammerofglass wrote: ↑Fri Jun 16, 2023 12:34 am The sound on the trailer being five seconds from sync doesn't fill me with confidence.

Perhaps there is only one Shadow. That would explain a lot.

I don't want a reboot I want a follow up! Like the live action Avatar series, I don't want to see a studio try to rehash the story I want to see what comes next!
Re: Babylon 5 The Road Home
We all do. But you are right the studio whoever that may be (CW) probably wants a fresh series. And if that is how JMS gets his B5 back on the air then so be it.phantom000 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 24, 2023 4:49 pmI don't want a reboot I want a follow up! It would interesting if he could do this all over again but with better SFX. Curious how he would do it.
