Twitter is a private company with terms of service you have to agree to to use it. They are not part of the government so "protected speech" means bupkis.

Oh, sure, if they chose to say nothing promoting Republicans (or Democrats) was allowed, that's just fine.
Until they ALSO claim that they're not responsible for promoting the ideas that are shared on their service.

This defense of Corporate Censorship needs to die, The Government needs to actively protect our rights, not just passively not violate them. That's what the Civil War was about.hammerofglass wrote: ↑Mon Jul 10, 2023 5:34 pm Twitter is a private company with terms of service you have to agree to to use it. Kind of my point. Defining the absolutes of free speech there. Plenty of people are against slander and libel as concept.Frustration wrote: ↑Mon Jul 10, 2023 3:57 pmThat's incitement, which is already a crime. And can probably be charged as slander.

It does, because you made an absolute and exclusive statement. And a wrong one on top of that. Extraordinary claims need extraordinary proof.MithrandirOlorin wrote: ↑Tue Jul 11, 2023 1:57 amYou say that as if what I said contradicts that.Thebestoftherest wrote: ↑Mon Jul 10, 2023 11:28 pmNo it wasn't it was about Slavery period.MithrandirOlorin wrote: ↑Mon Jul 10, 2023 6:54 pmThis defense of Corporate Censorship needs to die, The Government needs to actively protect our rights, not just passively not violate them. Yes, even the people that didn't care about slavery were like, "You don't let huge chunks of your country leave."
