Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs 2024

Post by clearspira »

Get a load of this bollocks. It looks like some cheap-ass community production.

Oh, and BTW, you may have heard Disney come out and say that these photos are fake. Turns out, they're not. Two of these actors are merely stand-ins. Everything else is what this film is going to look like.

2023 is officially one of the worst years for the box office EVER. There have been so many flops. Antman, Indiana Jones, Elemental, Flash, Black Adam. And yet Disney are persisting in releasing something that looks this crap? Lol. 2024 isn't looking much better - especially now Hollywood is on strike.

The Costumes look line, actually being Colorful is good compared to a lot of other stuff. I just wish the Dwarves were played by actual little people.

I don't understand why Disney persists in doing these live action remakes.

Because they're highly profitable.

Were. Were highly profitable. The Little Mermaid flopped. As I said, this is officially one of the worst years ever.

It did a lot worse than earlier entries, still made a profit even under Hollywood accounting though.

A 'flop' can still be wildly successful. What's remarkable is that Disney knowingly gave up the lucrative (and often quite tasteless) Chinese market by casting a black woman in the main role.

I suggest taking a look at TV Trope's articles on "Critical Dissonance" and "Critic-Proof" works, as well as reading about the difference between size of return and profitability. Disney can make profits easily, especially with merchandizing - the point is that they desire high percentage return-on-investment. Something that returns a small profit isn't of interest to them and will be considered a failure. Actually *losing* money is a disaster, but it rarely occurs, and is often a sign of a power struggle between executives.

Why am I getting a Little Red riding hood vibe from her outfit?

How can you say that when we have the Barbie movie? :P

But yeah disney could pull off a perfect adaptation and I'd still be sick of their "live action" reboots.
