Honestly, I'm not far behind you, there. She just talks the most sense and seems the most willing to improve thing for EVERYONE, not just herself and/or her doners. I've never understood what's supposed to be controversial about AOC, everything I've heard her say is just common sense.ProfessorDetective wrote: ↑Sun Aug 27, 2023 4:44 amHonestly, I'm not far behind you, there. I don't know if you have this phrase in the US, but here we would call her a ''champagne socialist.'' Which is basically someone who preaches socialism whilst enjoying all of the trappings and benefits of capitalism.hammerofglass wrote: ↑Sun Aug 27, 2023 8:14 amI've never understood what's supposed to be controversial about AOC, everything I've heard her say is just common sense.ProfessorDetective wrote: ↑Sun Aug 27, 2023 4:44 amHonestly, I'm not far behind you, there. A very good example would be the time that she wore a ''tax the rich'' dress to a $35,000 a head New York party.

Or how about the fact that she went to Boston university, one of the most expensive institutions in the country with a per year cost (adjusted for inflation) of $74,712. This despite the fact that the median household income in the US is $68,000. Sounds like she isn't being taxed enough, huh?https://www.pgurus.com/alexandria-ocasi ... -her-work/
Let me give you some advice: never trust someone who is trying to make you poorer whilst enjoying a life more expensive than yours.

Never trust someone who earns more, but pays noticibly less percent of their income as tax or social contributions, than you do.

This seems rather benign... and actually rather proactive.clearspira wrote: ↑Sun Aug 27, 2023 12:01 pm I don't know if you have this phrase in the US, but here we would call her a ''champagne socialist.'' To clarify (as in make clear we're talking about, not to liquify butter), are you advocating against both regressive and progressive tax systems?Madner Kami wrote: ↑Sun Aug 27, 2023 12:09 pm Never trust someone who earns more, but pays noticibly less percent of their income as tax or social contributions, than you do.

I'm advocating against me earning ~50k€ a year and having to give 49% of that away for taxes and social contributions, while my immediate superior earns four times as much and somehow manages to only get 35% of her income removed for the same purposes.BridgeConsoleMasher wrote: ↑Sun Aug 27, 2023 3:27 pmTo clarify (as in make clear we're talking about, not to liquify butter), are you advocating against both regressive and progressive tax systems?Madner Kami wrote: ↑Sun Aug 27, 2023 12:09 pm Never trust someone who earns more, but pays noticibly less percent of their income as tax or social contributions, than you do.

That is something you wish in a leader?
