Same thing with Oppenheimer. Even though I am a history buff and usually like these sort of things, I also can't sit through long movies without dozing off. I need to be able to pause a movie and watch it later.
Still a bit mad at Nolan for trying to insist his Tenet movie gets released to theaters when we we're clearly not even close to dealing with the pandemic.
Sending a major, tent pole, release to die just to prove a point. Seems a bit egotistical AND foolish. No wonder he had to hop studios.

It's kind of hilarious at the amount of goalpost moving this movie has generated from the "Go Woke, Go Broke" propagandists.

*When movie comes out*

"This movie is woke anti-male propaganda trying to brainwash the audience and will be a big flop! #GoWokeGoBroke"

*When the movie has a massive opening at the box office*

"The movie only had a big opening because of the marketing tricking people but once people realize what woke garbage it is, the numbers will fall hard!"

*When the film shows strong legs and has a massive opening week at the box office*

"People are just being brainwashed by the amount of marketing this garbage generated but once the hype clears, people will stop watching"

*When the film's legs continue strong and it seems it might make a billion at the box office*

"Hey now, this film isn't woke at all because Kenough is BASED and stuff."

That's the general reaction I've noticed from that crowd, they would rather move the goalposts than acknowledge that the "Go Woke, Go Broke" narrative isn't as strong as they think it is and general audiences don't care whether something is "woke" or not.

They did the same thing with the Mario movie. Whined about how woke it was until it was a hit and then suddenly reversed positions and declared victory.

It shouldn't come as a surprise that I follow ''go woke, go broke'' Youtubers and I don't recall any of what was just said. Barbie is a movie for girls based on a girl's toy. Of course it wasn't aimed at boys? Who was suggesting otherwise? I also don't recall anyone claiming that Mario was woke either. I literally don't.

Be honest with me: this has come from some Leftist rag that has the same level of objective thought as a right wing rag. A couple of twelve-year-olds on Youtube wrote a sexist comment and now a whole article has been written about it as if that is reflective of the whole community.

Right wing shock jocks who live on controversy like Ben Shapiro are the lowest of the low whom I wouldn't be caught dead watching. I watch people who enjoy breaking out detailed spreadsheets who can actually back up their statements. But I retract my previous post. It seems there have been a lot of bitches whining about a movie made for girls based on a girls toy that I wasn't aware of.

Edit: Y'know what? Fuck these people. They're the ones who give the Right a bad name. Just as crazy feminists like Froskurinn who went on her insane anti-male rant on the revived G4 give the Left a bad name. We all need to unite against people like this. They're the ones who are causing the division in our society. The decent moderate people who happen to be divided by politics have far more shared ground than it may seem, I bet most of us could share a pint together, happily discuss our differences and come away having learned something about each other. Its the shock jocks who make money based on flame bait who are stoking most of the tensions.

Are you including front-runner politicians in the list of shock jocks? Because I can't speak for the UK, but here in the USA we don't really have a moderate right. We have a "left wing" part that's the closer to moderate right than proper leftism, and a right-wing party of unapologetic white nationalist Christo-Fascists. For somebody who's normally so misanthropic and gloomy, you seem to have a remarkable amount of faith in some kind of moderate middle ground.

Thank you for conceding the earlier point though.

To be fair, it's generally a joke everywhere that the Opposition to the Right is the Moderate Right rather than any actual political left.
