I don't think it would matter any. It's not like Kentucky would elect anyone that different and California would be the same.
Humorously, people keep ignoring we have a Democratic Governor because they don't realize we have Democrats in the state.

I dunno, I think state level might be perceived differently than federal. Rand Paul and McConnell both won with more than 50% of the vote. Maybe without a strong incumbent the Democrats might muster a stronger campaign, but I wouldn't be so sure.

Schwarzenegger was Republican even when California had been heavily known as a blue state at electorate levels.

We need age limits on elected officials and voters

Yep. Booker lost by ten points and it's a disgusting insurmountable lead.

But 40% of Kentuckians are Democrats.

Which I do feel the need to note.

We as a society are not ready for this conversation. But its a conversation that is coming and in which we need to have. Because at some point in the near future, 100-120 year life expectancies will be the norm. Do we actually sit here and say that whole generations will not have a chance to reach the big chair because someone is still sitting in it from eighty years ago?

Society has always progressed one coffin at a time. Old people with their old ideas die off and young people with new ideas come along to replace them. Imagine if someone from the Victorian age was still making policy decisions on LGBT issues, abortion, religion, race, free speech? Because with 120 year lifespans, that is now actually a legitimate thing that could happen.

Either way, i know this much: when you've reached the point where your crooked body is being wheeled in for votes or your brain is literally dying live on air, that is the moment where some kind of term limit needs to be invoked for the greater good.
I’d say it depends on job performance foremost. Perhaps the specific length specifications for the terms should be looked at and reconsidered, I’ll give you that, but out with the old and in with the new is hardly a convincing position for reformatting things with such borderline discrimination.

A maximum age is no more discriminatory than a minimum age. Congresspersons, senators, and the presidency already have minimums. There's a floor, it's time for a ceiling.

That's the thing, isn't it? Many a reason that are the fundament of a minimum age, also apply to a maximum age reasoning and the prime reason usually is: Mental faculties not fully developed. If you are loosing your marbles, piece by piece, your mental faculties approach a point of infantility and irresponsibility and at the end, we're all going to wear diapers again, just like we did at the beginning of our lives...

Term limits I can see. (Please include the Supreme Court in that change.)
But an age limit. I think they need removal not further inclusion. I think part of the reason politicians come in older is we have a minimum age for some positions. And with many cases decision making is not simply an age related effect. I think a mental health check by a guaranteed neutral physician is a better option.

I say this because I have met people in their eighties that are fully aware and keep themselves informed. Then see people in their forties that are losing their memory but can seem charming.
I don't have a problem with someone in their 70's still doing their job. I have more of a problem with a 90 year old still in office and not retired. She should have left before her last re-election.
I got nothing to say here.

Well, at different rates for different people. It should probably treated the same way that elderly drivers lose their driver's licenses
