Dare I hope this could be a good thing?

There are way too many streaming subscriptions, and potentially merging two of them would be a lot more bang for that buck. I do subscribe to Paramount+, at least for now, and adding a bunch of WB stuff could significantly improve that value proposition.

Going by the article, WBD is looking to buy Paramount.

If the state of Max is any indication, they'll likely cancel most of the currently running programs and replace them with Reality shows, shelve many anticipated films for tax write-offs, and sell the steaming rights for their back catalog to folks like Tubi to avoid paying residuals. Oh, and they may merge HBO and Showtime/Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon.

So, you'll definitely be able to cancel your P+ sub.

Selling Paramount Plus? But NuTrek is such a big hit with the customers! How is this possible? 😱

I think there more to this than just IP ownership.

At this rate by 2040 there will be one media conglomerate distributing absolutely nothing because everything got written off for taxes.

Well, not just Paramount+, but all of Paramount.

*sigh* I don't suppose Biden would consider enforcing the existing anti-trust laws we have on the books?
