Hamas could surrender today, and Israel would shoot them, then go back to killing children and journalists until there is nobody left alive in Palestine. Netenyahu is not interested in justice, or even revenge. He wants Palestine GONE. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/ne ... r-AA1nbV7i
Indeed. I'm perfectly willing to go on record and admit that the original excuse has died. Israel is guilty of war crimes but that is where America needs to step in and be firm because no one else can.
I am not changing my opinion though that the Hamas leadership sitting in their penthouse are clearly doing nothing whatsoever to stop this. They sprung a trap, Israel bit into that tasty morsel, and they are just sitting back sipping champagne and watching their recruitment numbers go through the roof. And if they do extend the olive branch and Israel slaps it to one side, that would be yet another victory for them.
Yeah well, sadly, Genocide Joe does not appear to be interested in stepping in and doing anything beyond providing a steady supply of weapons for war crimes.
I am not looking forward to the election.

Netenyahu boasted lately that Biden had been pressuring him the whole time that the end goal had to be a two state solution (American policy for decades) and that he was rejecting it.
I don't like Biden and support him purely out of immediate self-defense, but I'm not ready to count him out on this quite yet. He's been a professional Machiavellian for fifty years, and he usually has more than one plan going at once.

And if Israel does not come to the table despite Hamas being willing to do so, the US is holding all of the cards as their greatest overseas benefactor. Biden just needs to threaten to withdraw those ships he has next to Israel and boom, done. I have a feeling that America's involvement in this war is going to come to the fore one way or another by November as it will become an election issue.
Ugh, don't remind me. I'm honestly worried that the Republicans might win the election because enough left-leaning Democrat voters turn away from the polls in disgust. Thank Genocide Joe for fucking that up if it happens.
Honestly worried about that too. I just don't understand how the Democrats just couldn't find someone to take up the torch. I think it was discussed here but it was an assumption that Biden was just a reset and then a new candidate would come up for the 2024 election and Biden would retire. You can't tell me there is someone who is Gen X that could build off of the platform from Biden and basically not be Trump? What the hell is going on with the Democrats? Seriously. All you got to do is bring someone young like in their 50's and even have the same platform as Biden. Maybe even snarky about Trump and they would win. What the fuck?
The establishment is growing old and the older it gets, the harder it becomes for younger people to become a part of it. At this point, you literally have to wait for a large part of the old guard to die, before any fresh air is allowed to get in. Calcification is a thing in political parties and the US system only allows two to exist, so young blood needs to go through all the old veins, before it reaches the heart.

At this point my big fear is that Netanyahu will succeed in his goal of displacing and/or killing every single Palestinian in Gaza. It doesn't seem like anything will stop him.
On the plus side, there are apparently still some partially functional hospitals left in Gaza after all. For now.

The fact that this is an election year feels like very good motivation for someone like Netanyahu to press his luck and try to affect the outcome of the election here; it's a win-win situation for him right now.

The man clearly has several age-related mental problems. I'm sorry, but the idea that anyone can look at Joe Biden today and say to themselves ''that's a chessmaster with several plans on the go'' is just tragic for all concerned.

We must be very careful not to forget about Putin too. He'll want his mate back in, make no mistake.
