Yeah, that tracks with my idea of Dark Elves. My preferred Elves care about skin tone as much as we care about eye color. If you brought back the old Norse terminology you could have both types of Dark Elves in the same story, with The Drow as the Svartalfar and these Record of Lodoss War style Dark Elves as the Dokkalfar.
