Would probably have invent a new reason why to blow up a star to destroy the shipyards in honor of Jadzia. Something I guess more mundane. Has to be done. Risky mission. Worf and Martok do it just out of sheer enjoyment. I don't know.
Have Sisko's disappearance be the reason for it. Sisko is gone, the DS9 crew is without their leader and the Dominion is causing more problems now that The Sisko is out of the picture. Have it where it's thought that Sisko was assassinated by the Dominion with none of them knowing that it was related to the Pah Wraiths so to honor their friend and leader Worf, Martok, O'Brien and Bashir go on a mission to take out the shipyards.

Science Fiction is a genre where anything can happen. Just make sure what happens is enjoyable for yourself and your audience.

There's an extra fun bit with that in that Las Vegas desegregated because the Rat Pack refused to play any casino that wouldn't allow Sammy to gamble in.

Also the humor that apparently Benny WAS real (probably created with Prophet magic) but quit science fiction to become a children's fantasy author.

Since Quark is involved. What if the Ferengi was involved in some intelligence for the Allies? They sold some codes or something that would let them bypass the security around the shipyard undetected but since it's only one ship which wouldn't do much damage in such attack that they decide to blow up the stat? Quark is there because Zek decided to mess with him and have be the Ferengi representative. Do it in a way that the Ferengi are still neutral as possible though.
Odo was... limited by the 1990s. Its culture, its conventions, its technology and its TV budget.
Chuck even noted that it kind of doesn't make sense that Odo would have any sort of conventional sex drive. But even if we say that he does, why is he even a ''he''? Why not a ''she''? Why not a ''they''? Why not ''nothing at all''? Why not an alien with three sexes? Why not one thing in the morning and one at night? I'm just saying, for a being that can become literally anything, he sure as hell doesn't become everything.
I get that he has - to put it politely - a stick up his butt. And I get that he isn't a very good shapeshifter, but come on. And BTW, that became a real lame excuse as time went on. He can perfectly become any animal, any object, even the surface of a wall... but he can't give himself a better face than that. Uh-huh.
In fairness, the Doctor also has these problems. But at least with him he is a copy of Lewis Zimmerman, who as it turns out is a massive skirt chaser. How much we see is the Doctor and how much is ZImmerman is open to debate.
I always took Odo presenting as male as just part of him defaulting to imitating his adopted dad, like his face.
That said I would like it if Odo were similar to the modern comics version of Loki that the MCU was too cowardly to do, just swapping between gender identities and presentation whenever. They've done trans and nonbinary characters in modern Trek, some genderfluid representation would be nice. Also just for the pun.
...for space is wide, and good friends are too few.
