I know several cis women who really want that equipment removed or have already done so for various reasons (mostly medical); they're still women.
It wouldn't surprise me if there are cis men who would want to carry a child if they could, can't say I've actually met anyone who shared that with me though. Married gay men and such.

Re: What it's like to be a pregnant trans man in America
Except that is a gross oversimplification of it. Not every single transman is going to feel that way. Not every single one of them whether its a transman or transwoman that go fully into their specified gender of choice. Just like there are transwomen who will never get bottom surgery for their own personal reasons.clearspira wrote: ↑Mon Jan 29, 2024 7:27 amI refer you to my previous comment. We have reached peak ''The Emperors New Clothes.'' This only works if everyone agrees that it does.McAvoy wrote: ↑Sun Jan 28, 2024 5:38 amIts simple. A former biological female who identifies as a man, transman wants to use his biological female equipment that he still as a former biological female equipment to get pregnant. It's that simple. He isn't biologically male. Saying biologically males cannot get pregnant is irrelevant.clearspira wrote: ↑Sat Jan 27, 2024 9:08 pm So, just so we are clear here: we are talking about transmen who want to be pregnant. That one thing that actual biological men cannot do. That one thing that more than anything else marks you out as a biological woman.
Y'know... if you didn't link the article I would swear that this is a troll. I'm glad that you've found enlightenment here because i'm confused as hell.
''I'm a man. I feel that with every fibre of my being that I was born into the wrong body.''
''OK. Cool. I have no problem with that.''
''Also, ignore my huge pregnant belly.''
''Wait? What?''
''What is so confusing about that?''
''Because it goes against literally everything that you opened this conversation with.''
'' ''
I got nothing to say here.

Don't try and tell me that you want to be a man, or that you feel like a man, or that you are in the wrong body, or that you actually are a man, and then proceed to willingly do something that only women can do. That is bullshit. Like I said before, if there wasn't an article I would swear that you are trying to troll bait me right now.

Throughout most of history and in many places still on this Earth sex and gender are not different things. This is very much a very recent Western concept - you ask this question throughout most of the Middle East or Africa and they will laugh in your face. It wasn't that long ago that the accepted term was ''transsexual'' and there is a reason for that. There is a reason why the TNG episode with the genderless aliens are the exact opposite of how we would use the term ''gender'' today given how they very much absolutely do have gender in the 2024 usage of the word.BridgeConsoleMasher wrote: ↑Thu Feb 01, 2024 4:35 am... Agree with me or not, the point is, this is a complicated and nuanced subject. Something is not automatically right because we have decided today that it is right and something is not automatically wrong because the past says it, or that another country says something else. Real life does not play by such simplicity. Unfortunately for us all, we live in a world that for the last 15 years has learned to condense complicated subjects into 150 words or less on American-dominated social media sites.

Transgender people have existed since recorded history in ancient Sumeria, with the priestesses of Innana. Concepts of sex and gender have varied across cultures and across time, such as the empress Elagabaus. Much of Western civilization was dedicated to suppressing or erasing the existence of LGBTQ people.
If you want something more complete, gender confirmation surgery predates heart transplants. Trans is not a new concept nor is it some social media trend. Get used to it.

What I find interesting about this question is that apparently I am not allowed to care. Genuine question: what was the correct response in your opinion? Not say anything at all? If so, might I suggest not starting up threads about controversial issues on a public forum? My opinions are positively milquetoast compared to many that you would attract in a place with a far wider readership.Thebestoftherest wrote: ↑Thu Feb 01, 2024 3:32 pmWhy do you care?clearspira wrote: ↑Mon Jan 29, 2024 7:27 amMEN CANNOT GET PREGNANT!!Fuzzy Necromancer wrote: ↑Sun Jan 28, 2024 12:17 amYeah well some people want to have kids. I'm about the conversation. The exchange of ideas. To learn, to reach out, to engage, to express, to challenge. Those are my goals. That is why when I post, I write two or three paragraphs that take me twenty minutes instead of one word answers. It is fine to disagree with me. It is fine to hate me. But to tell me not to care? To tell me to shut up? To accept the warm embrace of the echo chamber and clap like a seal to the tune? To quote Tywin Lannister: When you tear out a man's tongue, you are not proving him a liar, you're only telling the world that you fear what he might say.
And boy oh boy, are we all about metaphorically cutting out tongues nowadays.

I just Googled the priestesses of Innana out of interest because I have never heard of them and got this:https://sisterofiris.tumblr.com/post/17 ... ople-as-weFuzzy Necromancer wrote: ↑Thu Feb 01, 2024 8:54 pm Transgender people have existed since recorded history in ancient Sumeria, with the priestesses of Innana. I don't know what it is that you heard of them but that is hardly the concrete mic-drop you seem to think it is.
I also Googled Elagabaus because again, never heard of him. And the Wikipedia article doesn't seem to paint him as any different to any other extremely debauched Roman emperor. The part on his gender identity states that any information on him is unreliable at best.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elagabalus
Fyi, by admitting that ''concepts of sex and gender have varied throughout time'' you have in fact unintentionally agreed with me that the modern view of sex and gender is in flux. I also never said that trans is a new thing, only that the modern view is. Which again, you agreed.

How is it when you tell other people how they can live their lives, your just asking questions. The second I asked why your so against something that doesn't effect you, suddenly I am against intelligent conversations, right.
