On top of killing huge numbers of innocent people and creating seige conditions so that families eat livestock feed and children have to be operated on without anesthetic, Israel is also wiping out some of the world's cultural heritage and precious historical and archeological sites. https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2024/1/1 ... -destroyed

I mean, seriously, at what point are we going to stop pretending to be surprised, that anything but the complete obliteration of Gaza and it's people is the actual goal there? Looking forward to the day some people can't deny the reality anymore and have to eat their own shit. The bad thing is, that'll only happen after an undeniable mass-genocide and new Holocaust.

Oh, they also sent in soldiers disguised as doctors and nurses. BC Israel loves war crimes. And of course western media is trying to whitewash it.

Since Israel is blocking access to insulin, here's a list of escape gofundme's for diabetic Gazans. Facing a lack of insulin is condemning them to a slow, horrible death, which is exactly what Israel wants. https://mutualaiddiabetes.com/diabetics-in-gaza/

This what I am afraid of. Netanyahu and his ruling party were elected on the platform of eliminating threats to Israel but what happens when those threats are removed? It would be the end of their political careers as the party's central platform has become meaningless. So to stay in power Israel has to be threatened, so they pick another fight, and another, and another, and another...

This is just the opinion of one man, but given that he is a senior minister and an important player in the ruling party it does raise questions about how many others share his opinion, or at least would support him to avoid losing influence.
Well they got a fight handed to them by a Hamas atrocity (not that Netanuahu did anything to prevent that, more interested in provoking Palestine than anything else). That threat unfortunately can never be removed, Israel has too many neighbours who loved that and want to see the same thing happen to the entire country. And there'll be more support for that now. My initial opinion was that Israel was after Hamas and just didn't care who else they hit, now it's very hard to argue against the claim that they're trying to obliterate Gaza. Hard-hitting strikes against Hamas were entirely justified, but they quickly went past that in to being indiscriminate, and rather rapidly lost the support of a large chunk of the world.

Unfortunately other regional aggressive scum are more than happy to go just as black and white and provoke the situation further. The USA really should've come on much, much stronger on Israel's indiscrimination (is that a real word), but it seems all too happy to keep almost blind, unconditional support, with no more than a token tut tut, and that's just inflaming things.

Now the US is striking back at Houthi locations who were launching missiles at ships. One of them being a US destroyer that used it's Phalanx defense system for the first time in action in almost 50 years. US and Britain are both making measured responses at certain targets that even though Houthi is being backed by Iran, they don't want escalate the situation by directly attacking Iran.

There will be more US strikes soon.

Really need to get Israel is back off before this gets seriously out of control.
I got nothing to say here.

It's too late for that. Even if Israel stopped tomorrow, the flames have been fanned too widely. Not saying that means someone shouldn't try, i'm just saying that the stable horse has bolted. There needs to be some serious restitution.

The real danger here is what we first saw in Ukraine: drones. They're cheap, they're plentiful, they're easy to maintain, they're disposable, they're easy to hide, and they are relatively hard to track. Now any nation can have an advanced air force with first strike capability and without the huge upkeep and logistics that a traditional air force requires. How long before one of these things is sent to New York or London? That is a very real possibility, and the thing is, these people won't care.

They're nowhere near that sort of range.

Definitely, and should've happened before now. The USA's the only country capable of doing that but it doesn't seem interested in doing so. That can still be done whilst at the same time saying "do NOT attack us."
