The idea that everyone can just leave everyone to get on with their lives without their being fundamental points of contradiction in that is nice, but unrealistic. It's not a helpful idea for dealing with this sort of situation (indeed, I'd say it has the opposite effect in the end). Labelling things as "xenophobic" frequently is too - both xenophobes and those who often go on about them usually come across as closed-minded.
True peace is only possible when those who know both when to compromise and when to stand their ground are calling the shots.
The thing though Rq is that this isn’t so much of a partisan issue as much as one side being conscious of the issue by their own account while there is only ambivalence from the government.
Even the Israeli people are beginning to wonder if Netanyahu is actually trying to protect the country or just use the war as an excuse to hold onto power.

Oh please Fuzzy... the whole sale slaughter of thousands of people is the REWARDS of the job, while handling the 'boring stuff' (not murdering a whole bunch of people) is the cons of the job. Why, those aid workers were committing the worst crime of all. Making sure his vic... I mean, innocent victims who don't deserve to be MASSACRED FOR BEING THERE don't get fed and therefore, may be slightly fast enough to dodge your bombs or bullets. Gotta make sure to TRIPLE TAP THOSE AID WORKERS.

In other words: attaining absolute power over others is the entire point. And there is no greater way to exercise that power then to utterly annihilate entire populations of people on a simple whim.
