The only person running against her that anyone has heard of is Manchin, who everyone hates and isn't even officially a Democrat anymore.

Also Dean Phillips with his five delegates is technically still there.

In theory Biden's delegates can ignore his endorsement, nothing in the party bylaws say that have to respect it. So with that in mind, basically any high profile Democrat could get on the floor of the convention and make their pitch and see if they could sway the most delegates to their side.

But in practice Harris immediately got on the ball talking to delegates and they were on board. It'd take exceptional circumstances for any other nominee to happen.

Glad to see Harris sitting out Netenyahu's speech. Let's hope this represents actual will to change things and isn't just an empty gesture.

I think if this happened even at the beginning of the year they would have. But with just a little more than 4 months they are probably going to ride with Harris.

I will admit with her it seems to given life to the Democrat side. I read an article today that the Trump side is reeling a bit because the news right now isn't focused on him right now but what Harris is doing.
I got nothing to say here.

Well, at the beginning of the year they could have probably scraped together a real primary and they'd have just respected that. But even then I think they'd have been strongly tempted to just put it off for a month or so, when it was just barely too late, and done this baton pass approach. Democrats have this idea that primaries are bad for them.

An open convention was almost never going to be on the table, what history there is of them is one Democrats quite reasonably don't want to repeat.

Bro yes... she even came to where I live, I SAW her motorcade, just to campaign at a black woman convention in my state.

Yes. As of now she is the Democrat candidate unless other Democrats decide to throw in someone else.

I think at this point, it's too late and they will just ride with her.
