The fact that this is even remotely a close match is proof that the United States is a failed democracy.
Okay, well I hope you understand the importance of accepting the results of the election even if the candidate that you don't like wins.
It's really hard to take that principle seriously when the candidate you're terrified of, with support of his party, has openly said he will not to do that and threatened violence if he loses.
Yes but I hope you understand the conundrum that that entails. Unless I suppose you believe the system is fundamentally compromised, but I think it's fair to assert that to be a complex worth its own discussion.

I don't think it's fundamentally compromised yet. Within days of a new Trump administration? Absolutely. Hell, it's one of his campaign promises.

So... the Trump campaign did a Nazi rally. Not even the usual "this totally isn't fascist" pretext, people speaking at it outright called it a Nazi event. Musk got a special MAGA hat made in Fraktur for the event just because it's the stereotypical Nazi font. Played all the Nazi blood libel hits. And it was a parade of all the most vile racist shit you'd expect.

I didn't think any modicum of respect left for people who vote Trump this election but I just felt the last piece leave my body.

My dear gods, I hope this has SOME kind of negative consequence for him, and I hope the hithertoo gutless media outlets cover it as what it is.

The closest I seen is a lot of Latino voters are pissed...

But who knows how pissed, given how Trump still got a lot of Latino votes in 2016 and 2020.

You think they would just put of self preservation, since authoritarian regime usually start by making those in media have accidents to replace with yesmen.

Not if they just decide to become yesmen themselves, which they are obviously hedging their bets on.

Anyway, fuck the fourth estate.

The only problem is that after Trump loses, he'll STILL act like he won and no one will fucking throw him in jail for all the crimes he's done.

He'll just continue to threaten democracy and act with no consequences.
