Mel discovers the Black Rose is secretly... somebody, it's never revealed and other than establishing she's queen now we never go back to her. Jayce and Victor go... somewhere, maybe they're dead who knows? We see Caitlin looking at a schematic for the gate showing how Jynx might gave survived but there's no indication she did, maybe it's a "never found the body" situation. Then she and Vi are in an airship going somewhere for some reason.

It felt like there was prereading I was supposed to do and wasn't told about. It can't just be League canon, half the Champions are dead.
Or maybe none of them are.
A couple are uncertain but Ambessa and Heimdinger died on screen.
I remember reading that Arcane was in its own continuity from the games and I remember thinking that was a smart move because it gave the writers freedom to do whatever they wanted to the characters. But because of the success of the show they made it canon even though it makes no sense since I know two of the characters are suppose to be alive and Caitlyn has both her eyes in the games.

Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but I remember reading someone that Jinx and Lux were childhood friends and yet Lux never shows up in Arcane. Also I prefer Jinx with Lux, Sorry Ekko you're amazing and you deserved more screen time but I think Lux is a better match for Jinx.

While true, there's something of a asterisk regarding this. Basically, League of Legends lore has been retconned multiple times in the past already and this is just the latest in them. It's less Star Wars Legends and more like the DC universe's multitude of reboots.

One thing I really don't like after having time to think about it: in Jynx and Ekko's first scenes as adults in the first season she murders a half dozen of his friends right in front of him, and in the second season both characters and the writers seem to have completely forgotten about that. Even in the "everyone but Vi and Jayce lived happily ever after" timeline there's no hint of them ever existing.
...for space is wide, and good friends are too few.

A poster on RPG.net shared all of the fascinating bits from a recent Twitch chat. Some interesting goodies.

Continuation after arcane is in works for while- next series is already in development for about a year +
He specifically mentioned ep 8 and ep 9 for future series teases - including the piano and raven/crow
Noxus, Ionia and Demacia are getting shows and are next steps into this cinematic universe...they pick each setting to explore diff sides of Runterra
Team set up the arcane s2 finale in ways that will impact the overall world heading forward
They view each season as rival to big things like GoT, with the aim always being higher
They considered Blitz for S2
Hextech is not gone, but the core/anomaly is gone
Heimerdinger is not dead
Arcane was not originally canon when first planned, but they switch the plan after s1 feedback
They always wanted to tell story about Vi, Jinx, Viktor, Jayce and setting of Zaun and Piltover
There are indeed references for future characters set up in both s1 and s2
Void is attracted to places with high amount of arcane
Raven is confirmed to be Raum
Swain is teased to looking into arcane history and demon origins
Timeline is not established yet for the show
Joked that the Pianist is teased as Jhin
Warwick went through long process, but they wanted to show as much of Vander possible
Twitch was never teased
Ziggs was not inspiration for Isha
Renata Glasc will replaced chem barons in future
The arcane is their version of magic. Arcane does not originate from hextech. The arcane is one viewpoint interpretation of magic.. each region sees it differently
Viktor will be explored on later shows confirmed- he is more than just human or arcane user now...he is something special
In League - Other champions from Zaun and Piltover will be brought up to Arcane timeline
Urgot is coming later
Zeri was never a consideration
Warwick is still split between human and wolf. One side will eventually win.
Shimmer is invention of Singed to see how far he can take human body
Cost of Arcane is not 250 mil, but it was still expensive
Zaun is designed in way of multiple zones on top of each other..deeper you go the scarier it gets
House Medarda will play part in future of Runeterra
Glorious Evolution robots were inspired by biblical angels without wings
MMO team is heavily involved while they are making choices for Arcane and vice-versa - all lore teams work together on choices. What we see is year in advance story planning. They are trying their best to keep consistent, but also said that lore changes all the time.
There are selected few who are organized and keep lore in check.
Creators of the show care about lore and they ask you to give them time and your patience. They also understand that they cant please everyone.

Yeah, that bugs me too. One thing I like about Zuko's and Catra's redemption arcs is that they are forced to confront those they hurt and while it's not usually given as much attention as I think it deserves the show doesn't stop giving them shit for what they did yet the situation is desperate enough that it's believable that most of the heroes are willing to overlook what they did.

But with Jinx, the show just sort of brushes her sins aside with no one really addressing them. Take Sevika, Jinx is directly responsible for Silco's death which has caused Sevika no end of problems and yet I don't think she ever learns that Jinx was the one that killed Silco and the two have no problem working with each other. I was certain that was going to get brought up and that it would cause a rift between the two but no it's never touched upon and Sevika is basically out of the series after episode 4.

I've seen a lot of fans defending Jinx's actions, of both attacking the counsel and gasing Piltover saying that they deserve it after all the shit they upper class pulled on them. This ignores that Jinx was doing this more out of spite to get back at her sister for not excepting her for who she was now and choosing Caitlyn over her.

Which ties into another issue, Sevika is one of the characters most responsible for Jinx's mental decline in season 1 because she lied to Jinx about Vi's intentions by implying that Vi was working with Cait to hunt down and arrest Jinx. This one lie leads to everything going wrong at the end of season 1 and yet it's never talked about.

As I said before I don't mind the idea of Jinx being redeemed and given her popularity there was no doubt it was going to happen but the way it happened is what bugs me and I can't help but blame the rushed nature of season 2.
