Geez most of us drop that mentality by the time we are 10.

I am guessing The Rock. I got $1,000 on this.

Oh BTW, when you elect a simple minded senile old man used to having all the power this is what what you get. Pet projects based on some fantasy.

That being said I am 99% certain this will be shut down and never heard again due to the amount of money to fix it up.

So instead it will go to Naval Station Guantanamo Bay. Garanteed. Going to reopen back up and get bigger.
I got nothing to say here.

Escape From Alcatraz was airing on his local PBS station a few hours before he made the post.

And that is probably how I lost $1000. Now let me mail $1000 of monopoly money to the White House with a note that says I lost this due to what movie Trump was watching where he came up with deadbrain idea to reopen Alcatraz.
I got nothing to say here.

After watching the Trump/Carney meeting from yesterday, I am just amazed at Carney's restraint. You don't have to be an expert to see he was holding back big time to prevent the meeting from being a shouting match. In a way I wished he went full blown on Trump. Calling him out. But at the same time I get it. He was being diplomatic. Didn't want to escalate anything. He was just elected. Bad optics and all that. Trump is erratic and who knows what he would do if he feels like he is slighted by Carney.

Tons of word salad as to be expected from Trump. Still don't get this obsession he has for making Canada into a 51st state. It won't happen.
I got nothing to say here.

You know, maybe we could get rid of him if we just make him watch Waiting for Godot. Just tell him that it's real and if he goes out to some random field and if he waits for Godot he'll eventually show up and do whatever it is someone name Godot does to people when he actually meets them.

Trump made a deal today with UK about tarrifs. I am still waiting on analysis of it to see if it was a nothing burger or an actual deal. Whether the UK or the US made out on it.

It's a nothing-burger, largely. Or a bad deal for the UK, depending on your point of view. The corner-stones are:
  • base 10% tariffs remain
  • 25% tariffs on cars applies only after the first 100,000 cars being exported to the US
  • aircraft engines are free of tariffs, if exported to the US
  • UK market being opened up for US agrarian produce
First, well, the base 10% tariff remains, which is bad. Second, the aircraft engine deal was largely made for Boeing's sake, but the UK kinda benefits from it, which is good. Third, the UK exported roughly 101,000 cars to the US in 2022, so... hmpfsht. It kinda caps the amount of potential exports, but frees the regular export from tariffs (except the 10%, of course) so kinda neutral. And fourth... Well... *points and laughs at the largely BrExit-supporting agricultural sector of the UK* Fooked. Properly. Well done. Guess those are going to support Farrage in the next elections (whose presence at the helm wouldn't have made a difference to this "deal", but whatever).

In other news, I started playing "Not Tonight". Can highly recommend. Great soundtrack, thought-inducing (just like "Papers, Please") and kinda topical. 😋

I watched Palutens and Cherus run on "Contraband Police". Seems to be a quite fun game.

Concerning Trump: The first meeting with Merz could be interesting. And with the new pope.
