A Private Little War (TOS)

This forum is for discussing Chuck's videos as they are publicly released. And for bashing Neelix, but that's just repeating what I already said.

no no no, much better to do a sequel to the episode where everybody gets drunk
Could've been worse... They could've attempted a sequel to "Patterns of Force". There's a terrifying image. Although, if they had decided to go down that route, I'd like to have seen the ultimate fate of the cloud-city on Stratos from "The Cloud Minders". Probably not with the writing mettle of Season 1 TNG, but it would have been interesting nonetheless.
Clearly, what we needed to see was the return of the Friendly Angel.

Hail, hail, fire and snow...
Certainly would have fitted with that season's "bad ideas" basket. Still, it would have left the possibility for a much better sequel to "The Naked Time" from one of the more competent eras of the show. It would have been interesting to maybe see how DS9 would have handled it.

Eh, that type of plot was absolutely outside of DS9's competencies. If DS9 had done a sequel to "The Naked Time", it would have been "Let He Who Is Without Sin, Part 2."

Egh... You're right, its genre is firmly affixed in war. Maybe it's a concept that's firmly affixed to its 1960s environs or perhaps later TNG would have yielded better results with a greater handle on characterisation. The closest DS9 could get to the concept would probably be a hate plague spreading through the station causing havoc and things were unstable enough without such an invention.

Oh God, I'd forgotten about that. Yes, DS9 did do a spiritual sequel of sorts to "The Naked Time", and it was indeed about as good as you'd expect.
