So, Harrelson displays more charisma than both Lando and Han...

i wish Disney Star Wars would have never existed.

Well...yeah this is YEARS before we saw either of them in the original trilogy....I suspect that Harrelson's character will be something of a mentor to both....which explains some of their personality and charisma in the OT trilogy.

Personally I like the idea of a heist film set in Star Wars. I mean I like Jedi and fighting the Empire as much as the next person...but some times...it's 'shiny' to just be the outlaw.

Also, looking at this film...its become even more clear to me that EA is apparently run by idiots if they couldn't see the potential in a Single Player Star Wars game set in the universes seedy underbelly...when this film is coming out soon.

It was a pretty good trailer, but I have quite a few reservations. I'm not getting Han Solo vibes from the lead at all, for one thing.

More importantly, out of all the places you could go in the Star Wars universe, Disney deciding to go with a Han Solo origin story is kind of dubious from a writing perspective. We already know the most important facts about Han's story, we already know his character's ultimate arc and where he ends up. Sometimes a character is sufficiently mysterious or interesting that it's worth exploring that character in a prequel or origin story (Darth Vader's origin, for example), but Han is not one of those characters. In fact, Episode IV is set up in such a way that you're efficiently told everything you need to know about a character. I never asked myself how Han became a lovable rogue, and frankly the specifics of his past strike me as tremendously unimportant. The important part is the arc he goes through in the OT.

The caveat is, I thought all the same things about Rogue One-it sounded like fanfic that needs to fill in every minute detail until there's no more room for mystery and imagination. RO did end up being arguably the best Star Wars movie Disney has turned out so far, so I'm not totally without hope. Although, I think a large part of its success is due to the fact that it told a complete story about "average" rebels who succeeded in making a difference. It doesn't look like Solo is doing that.

Finally, after The Last Jedi I just don't have much good will toward Disney's Star Wars right now, and I'm not confident in their ability to crank out truly original and worthwhile stories, certainly not with the overload of movies that comes with Disney.

Sums up my feelings pretty well too. I kind of like what I'm seeing as a sci-fi heist adventure - I've never been that fond of the Force and Jedi, and the notion of a Star Wars story about regular folk has always been appealing - but I can't shake the worry that telling that particular story, complete in itself, could get forced into the back seat in favour of 'prequeling' Han, if you follow me. Obviously they can't do anything that's out of keeping with where we find Han in Ep4, but with "How did Han wind up in that cantina booth?" being the least interesting plot point to me, it feels like not an ideal situation to be crafting a satisfying standalone story in.

Still, it's not an impossible situation. Give or take a few reservations I've enjoyed everything Disney's done with SW so far (on screen at least, Dark Disciple can go to hell - I know it wasn't their idea, but if they're going to be arbiters of what is and isn't canon, and say that is, they can bloody well own the scorn) so I'm not hesitating to go see it.

Yeah I feel like the weakest part of this movie will be Han Solo himself. He's not bad but the same time I don't know he's truly right for this role.

Like everyone else has said though I won't mind seeing a heist Star Wars movie but I also feel like that can be done without expanding Han Solo's back story. Overall I've enjoyed Disney has done with SW(Though I understand why some people aren't too happy with what Disney's been doing with Star Wars.) but I don't know about this one.

I am fatigued after The Last Jedi. I expect I will see this in theatres as my GF is still a big movie going fan, but I'm not going out of my way to see this. It being Han's backstory actually sucks some of the life out of the plot of a heist plot film IMO.

Having seen the most recent trailer when I went to Infinity War I'm a bit more interested in going now. I think mainly for Chewie and Lando though.
