Hi everybody, long time watcher but first time I am making a new topic on the forum's here.
What I was wondering what people thought were good reviews to interest people into the show.
I am thinking of introducing my father to the reviews as he is a long time Star Trek and to a lesser extent other Science Fiction like the X-Files.
Actually grew up when when Star Trek was first airing.
I have been thinking of introducing it to him for a long time, but I want to show him a review that's either easy for him to get into or very funny.
Or both.
Anybody have any thoughts on what a good review would be or perhaps you were in a similar situation to me and found good gateway reviews.
What would be a good review to show to get somebody interested in Sfdebris?

Where Silence has Lease
It isn't Chuck tearing shit apart, and it still is pretty funny.

For my friend I went with Maneuvers. Much of the humor is derived by the terrible writing and has more facepalming fodder than sheer hatred. This, of course, only works if the person is not overly fond of Voyager.

I would add his 2 part Wrath of Khan review as a great introduction to how good and insightful a reviewer he can be. It shows how he is with something he loves. Not something he is mocking or making fun of.

Hmm. It's hard to say. My personal favorite reviews are In The Pale Moonlight, Author Author, The Thaw, and a number of other reviews.
Where Silence Has Lease was another good review.
He's done a lot, so there's a lot I like.
Some oddball favorites of mine are: The Avatar the Last Airbender reviews, which are good, but not typical work. Same goes for the My Little Pony reviews.
I'm also not sure if one of the video game reviews like The Old Republic or Anna's Quest are good starting points.
Another option is one of the movie reviews of a good movie that your friend likes. Chuck is pretty fair to good movies, so they're less jarring if you don't want to go right into something getting torn apart.
Otherwise... I'd say show your friend a list of episodes and find some that he's curious to see an opinionated review of. It's hard to judge what will appeal the most to someone else.

The Wrath of Khan, it's what got me into his series due to how well thought out it was. Same for the Princess Twilight arc from MLY just to show that he takes even "Silly Kids Shows" seriously and that he respects good ideas and stories regardless of were they come from.

I'll second Wrath of Khan. I think Trials and Tribble-lations would be another great option, not so much for the jokes but because it's obvious from watching just how much Chuck loves Star Trek. It helps put it into context when he makes criticisms in other episodes - it's not out of malice or an attempt to make himself seem clever by tearing down someone else, but because he loves the series and wants the best out of it.

In the pale moon light.

If your friend is a Whovian, any of the Lost episodes videos. Even the BBC haven't produced anything that in-depth on the topic.
