If you want to know why I hate this era of human history, it's having to see the phrase "Incel rebellion" used unironically in a news article about senseless slaughter. Then again, I guess men have been killing people because they got angry about sexy women not rewarding them for being a "nice guy" for a while now.

I think the movements actively seek out angry, pathetic nerds. They understand how easy it is to manipulate soured nice-guy entitlement, to take these people and feed their feelings of isolation and persecution, then convince them that they are powerless to change their circumstances and should only lash out.

It is much easier to see others doing better than you than ever before. In the 80's you could only compare yourself with those around you and maybe those on TV and movies (but could tell yourself that it was just a TV show or movie). At the turn of the 20th and before it was your social group and basically that was it. Now you can see all that potential partners you could have, the lives your could have, the friends and you are EXPECTED to have the friends ect... by ''peers'' you never met online. Combined with a decline in a traditional social outlet of religion and you have some really alone loners. And men are not considered to have a basic inherent value by themselves, unlike women who at least can rear and raise children to be ''useful''. A ''useless'' man who is alone often turns to suicide, perhaps now more than ever. The mass killing approach is amplified by a modern media that will give the infamy/fame so desired to those ''nobodies'' with nothing to live for.

Oh, no doubt a lot of incels talk trash about women. It was the idea that they are all, or largely, "fucking domestic terrorists" that I was objecting to, when I've been told that doesn't apply to other groups.

I also have to assume that "fucking" was for emphasis, given the nature of incels.
