Transformers: Starscream's Ghost

This forum is for discussing Chuck's videos as they are publicly released. And for bashing Neelix, but that's just repeating what I already said.

Transformers: Starscream's Ghost

So...a minute and thirty seconds in I had to stop the review to ask, are you ok Chuck? you sound like you're out of breath? were you getting jiggy with the misses (cause a woman that gets hotby you talking about Transformers is a keeper for sure) or had you just finished doing some strenuous work or exercise?.... or, you know, did you have a hart attack wille recording this and didn't stop?
If Chuck or a mod reads this feel free do delete my account. I would do it myself but I don't seem to be able to find a delete account option. phpBB should have such an option but I guess this isn't stock phpBB.

Let's just say there's a reason I waited to post the schedule in case I needed some time off.

Turns out I do.

That's ominous. I'm not going to pry, but good luck with, well, that. All my best wishes.

Take all the time needed. "The show must go on" is a rule of thumb, not an absolute requirement. The same people tell each other to "break a leg"; they're not always to be taken literally.

I got 1:21 before I came on here to see if anyone else had noticed.

I hope it's just something like a panic attack and not something worse.

Well I hope you're doing all right Chuck, I'd hate if anything bad happened to you.

Ironically the episodes where Blitzwing appears as a background character in Decepticon crowds weren't done by AKOM, but by Toei.

Anyway, with all this talk about Transformers, I suppose the Five Faces of Darkness is somewhere down the line for a review. While the story of that five-parter is quite good the animation... well, let's just say it's not exactly quality, even by the low, low standards of animated series at the time. My particular favorite is this scene, around just before the seventeen minute mark of the third part

:https://tfwiki.net/mediawiki/images2/6/ ... uticus.jpg

Onslaught points out to the Quintessons that the Autobots' defenses of Cybertron are too powerful for them to take on, and we cut to the Combaticons, including Onslaught himself, all making 'rabble rabble' noises in agreement, and their combined form Bruticus is there, now the same size as they are. But the what takes the cake is the fact that they're animated with static images clunkily sliding up and down.

I'd say that's the laziest bit of 80's animation ever, but there are two episodes of the the old TMNT cartoon where they only have still frames for a few seconds and nothing else. One where April and Irma are hanging above some pot of acid or something, and another where Irma steps on Shredder's foot, and while we're hearing Shredder going 'ow, ow, ow' and hopping around, we only get doofy still-frames of Irma, Bebop, and Rocksteady reacting.

As for this episode itself, poor Blitzwing got screwed over big time but the overall script is solid, it's just too bad toy shilling and poor animation weighed it down. Also, I can't believe I never noticed the invisible Galvatron on the throne before! How did I miss that?

If I didn't know it was an animation error, I'd honestly have assumed that Galvatron had turned his throne around to face away from the bounty hunter(?) rather than just being invisible.

Take time off if you need it Chuck, we all understand.

You sounded crazy stressed during the Dragon Age review (understandably), and every Discovery episode seems bad for you, and you sound like you're having trouble breathing on this one. Combined with your housing situation... well, take it easy if you need to.

Do what you have to do for your health, first and foremost.

The weirdest thing about Transformers is that, thanks to the Unicron event, even the animation errors are canon.
