Is the Eternal Empire concept over?
I might be more interested in more than the basic game if it is.

Which concept?
As a storytelling element or as a story?

We only know this from the former Emperor's Wrath and the whole retcon was actually rather clever.
"Valokorian thinks the Sith are a dead end and stupid evil so he went to find a SMART EVIL species." I liked that Tenebrae was just the Chaotic Evil Ultimate Darkness persona that he put on for the Sith and they bought it, hook, line, and sinker.

As of the latest story update the Zakuul storyline is essentially over, praise Zildrog for that.
They're moving back to the Republic vs. Sith Empire conflict in the new storyline at the end of the year.

A minor Vaagari Invasion or some Unknown Regions stuff would be neat.

A shame because the Sith vs. Republic is terrible if you played a character who wanted peace with them like my LS Sith.

I always felt there never should had been light side Sith. Your choices as Warrior and Inquisitor should had been:CharlesPhipps wrote: ↑Sun May 20, 2018 12:22 pm A shame because the Sith vs. Republic is terrible if you played a character who wanted peace with them like my LS Sith.
1. Building you own powerbase not caring about the Empire
2. Sacrificing for the Empire to end the Light.

I probably wouldn't have played then. The story about being a good guy trying not to be a monster in an evil society was the most interesting RP in the game.Slash Gallagher wrote: ↑Mon May 21, 2018 11:49 amI always felt there never should had been light side Sith. It was the one decent thing the MMO brought to Legends.

I agree with this, just because I'm raised in darkness doesn't mean I will choose to be dark. Look at Drizzt Do Urden, Teal'c and even Finn from TFA. I always looks at my Sith as being a person that had standards. Sure I'll force choke your loved one until you tell me what I want to know...but once you do I will return them to you, alive and with no further injuries just as we agreed. Another example, two Jedi have set a trap for me...but my reason for being there isn't present so there really is no reason for me to fight these guys, they're not currently my problem so I walk away.CharlesPhipps wrote: ↑Mon May 21, 2018 11:59 amI probably wouldn't have played then. This kind of nuance in the Sith storyline is really what drews me to it, it's something that is frankly missing from Dragon Age 2. I
These options even allowed me to rp character growth....as my Sith grew increasingly annoyed with the 'Stupid Evil' he saw around him. Sith slaughtering people for fun or because they felt their pride was slighted in some way was a waste of time and resources. As such I became more "Nobel" in an attempt to lead by example because the Sith need more people like 'Doctor Doom' and less people like 'Carnage' if this society is to work.

I'm going to second the appreciation for the light side or Grey Imperials. Though you can can be cartoonishly evil villain, the fact that you can actually roleplay a nuanced character and it still felt like it made sense was great.CharlesPhipps wrote: ↑Mon May 21, 2018 11:59 am I probably wouldn't have played then. For my two bounty hunters, I had one playthrough where I had a seasoned career professional who's code was to always finish the job but never to cause unnecessary collateral. On my second I played an absolute psychopath. Both worked out pretty damn well and the hunter is considered the weakest of the Imperial storylines.
Was weird when they kept referring to my first hunter as a young man though.
In regards to the Zakuul storyline. I'm actually sad to see it go. Mostly because there was so much untapped potential. At the end of KOTFE there were so many great possibilities but for whatever reason the promises of an epic branching storyline where your choices matter petered out into a bare minimum effort result.
Whatever the storyline behind Valkorion. His design and voice actor had such an impressive presence. His grandfatherly sith personality promising you power but potentially not being the evil that was Vitiate was a great story hook. I would love to have seen where it could have gone had the character been handled better and perhaps if BioWare had more resources.
Thread ends here. Cut along dotted line.
