SW The Old Republic: Sith Inquisitor

This forum is for discussing Chuck's videos as they are publicly released. And for bashing Neelix, but that's just repeating what I already said.

At the risk of starting a avalanche, it's so nice to be able to talk about something Star Wars related without getting drawn into the conflict between the fandom over the more resent films. It's a nice change in pace. :D

Watching this, I now kinda want to see a movie with a Sith protagonist. Not hero, not even anti-hero. But a movie focused around a Sith apprenticing under a master. Explore how they manipulate things to get ahead in the galaxy.

Will never happen, of course.

I am curious how many parts this will end up being overall. The Imperial Agent story was six parts over two weeks, a pair of Monday-Wednesday-Fridays, so I think we saw on the schedule at the time when the whole thing would be out. The pace on this one seems a bit faster, too. Rex-Dart didn't reach the Dark Temple part of Dromund Kaas until a quarter of the way into Part 2.

Because of how much Chuck has stated how much he hates Knights of the Fallen Empire I wonder if someone has asked him to review it and he's going over one of his favorite TOR stories before he starts torturing himself with KOTFE. And if not, can someone make that requests because I do enjoy seeing him suffer, cause I'm a bit of a sadist.

I don't think it's a currently available donation option, as when the openings for the three remaining Imperial class stories went up last year, they were only for the base class stories of each of them just like the Agent review, not the full complete playthrough with expansions included. However, I think he did mention that the characters may appear in expansion reviews, but that's probably presuming that we get to a point far down the road that it opens up as a requestable option.

Chuck said we'd see some more Rex Dart action if someone bought the Bounty Hunter, so we are locked in now 8-)
Thread ends here. Cut along dotted line.

If that's the case, perhaps all four of them will show up in different parts of a hypothetical Knights review.

Should Chuck review KOTFE I hope he follows it up with Eternal Throne as I hear it's makes up for KOTFE along with being a good story and a real return to form for BioWare.

I'm actually really glad Chuck talked about the dumbed-down character builds, because I might otherwise not have known that (1) it's different in other MMOs, and (2) it's actually even worse than when the game first came out. I had actually assumed this was a function of it being an MMO - that it was too difficult to balance different skills in the online environment, but no. It's just EA being EA.

I can't decide if this is beneficial to me or not, since I'm primarily interested in the story and view the gameplay as an obstacle to overcome in order to see how things play out... which might itself be the result of the dumbed-down gameplay. Then again, the sheer volume of combat versus faceless mobs of mooks in the game already makes me less interested in it to begin with, and a more detailed & complex system might be even worse for me.

Anyway, I've completed 6/8 prologues (all except the Jedi). It's been a while since I touched most of them, but I think I'd rank their stories as follows:

1. Imperial Agent
2. Smuggler
3. Sith Inquisitor
4. Bounty Hunter
5. Sith Warrior
6. Republic Trooper

I really go back and forth on the Warrior and Trooper as to which was worse, because I found both boring. I think the main reason I preferred the warrior is because I named my character a lawyer-friendly version of 'Wayne Brady', intending to force choke everybody I encountered. Boy, was that disappointing, but it still amused me enough to pick in its favor.

I really wish alignment were more relevant to the story; I deliberately role-played the Trooper and Smuggler as dark side (both of which can make perfect sense in-world), and... it really didn't seem to make much difference.

Warrior actually ended up being my favorite, with Consular feeling as the boring one. Alignment at least made story differences there, as Light Warrior was interesting while Dark Consular didn't seem to make much sense. Taking the Knight 100% LS and the Inquisitor 100% DS was fun, at least.
