How random. Yesterday I watched the previous Pony episode without even guessing another would be coming this week.

While it's been all but confirmed by now that Scootaloo has a disability (first implied in "Flight to the Finish", with an indirect confirmation in "The Fault in our Cutie Marks"), I think it's fair to say that at this point in the show, there wasn't any reason to believe that her inability to fly was anything other than developmental. For a Star Trek example, I would partially compare it to Bashir's genetic engineering; while there were some anomalies given over time in his backstory, the decision to explain those anomalies by making him genetically engineered wasn't made until later.

Not quite, the Genetically Engineered thing was something they came up with later, Scoots being disabled was an idea they had had (Or at least Lauren had had) from the start as being possible, they just took awhile to decide if she really was or not.

Though yeah rather good looks at the eps, and YAY Canterlot Wedding! Don't quite get his issue with the musical numbers though, the more random Pinkie ones sure, but "This Day Aria"? That thing is one hell of a great villain song.

Also, oh yeah looking forward to the RD stuff, Wonderbolt Academy, possibly also Read it and Weep, Rainbow Falls, Newbie Dash? Lot of good choices.

Yeah, This Day Aria is up there with many great Disney villain themes.

Good look at someone that's not a major fan of the show at these episodes. Canterlot Wedding amongst a group of friends on another message board I have is one of the highest rated eps (we count 2 parters as one story).

Though with the anti-song view you have...kinda makes me think you won't ever want to look at "Magical Mystery Cure", which is pretty much a musical in a 22 minutes (without commercials) timeframe. Just would like to see your thoughts on, and sorry for spoilers for those that haven't seen it even if it's been a few years now, Twilight Sparkle becoming an alicorn.

Looks like he'll be off for the rest of the month after the 22nd, so it might be a "better early than late" type of thing.

As to him avoiding the music, still don't get it... but would be awesome to see him do Pinkie's Pride, great character piece, and it's a musical guest starring Weird Al.
