I find myself thinking – why don’t we put an embargo on the number of places men can apply to be elected? Actually why not just ban men from running at all everywhere for 20 years? No more men in politics in city halls. Just, "thanks, it’s been great - good bye."
So he can get heat from both sides. On the plus side, the shitstorm over politics might end up more entertaining than the new show itself.

To be fair, he says he says, "find myself thinking"; he wasn't actually calling for sexual discrimination. But this is part of what has made my enthusiasm for a new Picard show more tepid.

I don't see any difference from say refusing to serve someone working for the Trump administration. "Let private businesses choose who to do business with and let the free market sort it out" is the idea. True, in the past this might have been more laughable, but in current year I have little doubt a gay couple would be able to find a business more than willing to make them a cake for their wedding, and as added bonus points they could make themselves look better for it in the process.

Neither side of the cake event impressed me. Homophobia on one hand versus being told you can't decide who you do business with as a private business on the other.

The best part? It didn't even get decided. It was thrown out of court.

Personally I'm against the baker for the same reason I'd be against him if he denied service to black people. Being gay isn't a choice, so quite frankly it's not OK to deny someone service for it.

Now, denying someone service for wearing a particular (non-religious) clothing item, or for acting in a disruptive fashion, that's fine, especially if you have it clearly posted. So like, if the baker had a sign up saying "No Nazis", then denying service to Richard Spencer would be fine.
