I feel like when Wikipedia adds a page to their website that basically makes it as official as this sort of thing can get.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2018_Chin ... _trade_war
So, I though I should make a thread for discuss this ongoing...event, and posting news stories.

This podcast is a little old, but it has my favorite speaker, Peter Zeihan, gives a condensed version of his global analysis.
His bit starts 12 minutes in.

"We are going to win this. It will be so bigly. I will get so rich. The beauty of me is I'm really very rich. All the low-energy losers will be out of jobs. My buddy Xi and I are going to get so rich scamming those retards. So bigly, so rich. So much winning, you're going to be tired of winning by the time I'm done."
Honestly, there are easier, less risky, and overall better ways of breaking China.

Honestly, this would have probably gone much better if the Americans waited and built a case the Chinese weren't playing fair to the world, then worked with world organizations to impose multilateral sanctions, as opposed to going all half-cocked like this.

Except that would imply that America is afraid to act without the support/approval of the rest of the world an we can't have that...

Re: The China-U.S.A. Trade War
Came across this last night; apparently Canada has agreed to the new USMCA trade deal:

Sooo, the tariffs seem to be achieving some results which is not something I actually expected.

Two things:
Both sides are calling it a win, and neither side actually got what they wanted, so it's probably a victory of diplomacy.
This thread's about China, not Canada, and in all honesty, Canada is easier to push around than China.

I'm glad my "No Blood for Maple Syrup" picket in front of the post office brought this to an end without needless bloodshed.
