No it's not a horror movie or a heavy-handed social commentary, it's actual, literal, reality.

Read the source by TGLS. And this guy sounds mostly like a snake oil salesman. But there might be some benefit from it regardless. And if by some slim chance he is onto something. Then they will examine why the age difference is a factor in blood and come up with a pharmaceutical method for it. And then we all might age better.

Even if he is a snake oil salesman, don't you find it kinda creepy that there are wealthy individual trying to rejuvenate themselves with the blood of the young?Nealithi wrote: ↑Thu Sep 27, 2018 4:30 pm Read the source by TGLS. It sounds ripe to be the backstory to any number of dystopian fantasy stories, and a few vampire tales, too.

It's the recursion factor of culture. You go back years and years, where you have old stories of the wealthy bathing in the blood of slaughtered peasants, and it slowly works it's way around to the present day. This is the most recent manifestation, and it isn't the last.Fuzzy Necromancer wrote: ↑Fri Sep 28, 2018 12:24 am Even if he is a snake oil salesman, don't you find it kinda creepy that there are wealthy individual trying to rejuvenate themselves with the blood of the young?

Why would it? It's a good way to fleece some money out of some stupidly rich and richly stupid fools and as long as the donator consents and gets paid, everybody wins.Fuzzy Necromancer wrote: ↑Fri Sep 28, 2018 12:24 amEven if he is a snake oil salesman, don't you find it kinda creepy that there are wealthy individual trying to rejuvenate themselves with the blood of the young?Nealithi wrote: ↑Thu Sep 27, 2018 4:30 pm Read the source by TGLS. Re: Blood of the young used to heal rich people
I can see two potential downsides.
1. People may make fewer blood donations for free if they can get paid for it, and, as a regular donor, I think I get "blood banks are at a critical low" e-mails more months than not.
2. One of the reasons I've heard against people being paid to donate blood is that people who need money for a fix are drawn to donate, and are more apt to have blood you don't want. True, we can test, but the tests aren't 100%. Of course, people who hate the rich on general principle might consider that poetic justice or some such.
Other than that, it seems like free trade and no real harm done.
