The China-U.S.A. Trade War

This is for topical issues effecting our fair world... you can quit snickering anytime. Note: It is the desire of the leadership of SFDebris Conglomerate that all posters maintain a civil and polite bearing in this forum, regardless of how you feel about any particular issue. Violators will be turned over to Captain Janeway for experimentation.

Both sides are calling it a win, and neither side actually got what they wanted, so it's probably a victory of diplomacy.
This thread's about China, not Canada, and in all honesty, Canada is easier to push around than China.
I appreciate it is about Canada and this was an easier goal to reach than China, but I wasn't expecting to get this far and that means North America is again a block in competition with the outside world, giving the US a bit more leverage in negotiations with China (beyond the ''China, why can't you be reasonable like our other trade partners like Mexico and Canada?'' line you can expect next).
