More like we'd all get warnings. I have a warning myself for anti-semitic comments towards Sanders, which you know... I don't hate him because he's Jewish so much as I think he's a rotten person (he doesn't even practice his religion, he's an atheist) and I always get frankly shocked there's still anti-semitism after WWII. But I willingly walked into that, so I have no one to blame but me, and I accept that. I've tried to turn my attitude around since then.

That might apply if he was being subjected to criminal charges in a criminal trial. But he wasn't. He was in a job interview.
It's not a non-sequiter because it's an example of how somebody accused of rape...does not get their life ruined, while the person doing the accusing risks a shitload blowback and punishment. It shows how high the stakes are for the accuser, and how low for the accused.
He was accused of committing a crime. It is far out of the scope of work of a job interview to determine criminal or even tortuous responsibility and hold someone accountible for it. A mere accusation of anything should not ruin someone's life and ruination should not be easy without strong supporting evidence. Ford was largely put in that position by the cynical and unethical way Senator Feinstein and her staff mainipulated the revelation that Ford's accusation existed.

The reason why Dr. Ford didn't charge him is simple. She doesn't wanna be in the same room with him. Hell, I've seen people argue that you could test DNA from rapists decades ago. With that logic, we shouldn't believe WWII victims stepping forward. After all, they could get the semen on them from their rapist tested and hunt him down in Russia to get their justice, right? But then, do you really think those older women, especially if they were brutalized by more than one horny and drunk man as a CHILD, is going to wanna see them again? Even that possibility will have them short on air and feeling triggered. You really don't understand psychology at all, do you?
