Alright, I'll grudgingly concede that one.

I'm still just a bit salty that the standing president's political opponents, including a former president who was subjected to lynching threats, get a bunch of pipe bombs and I hear so much waffle about "well the ANTIFA PUNCH PEOPLE!" and "can we really be sure what this is about?".

This is nothing less than politically-motivated right-wing pro-Trump terrorism.

And I'll grant you this - the bombs are an escalation past what we've seen so far in the (increasingly accurately named) culture wars.

Interesting coincidence that this happened right before elections. Fortunate that these were all caught before they got to their intended targets and were able to be detonated in controlled circumstances.

I feel it's the cycle coming back around again. Bombs were big back at the late 19th century, in as much as using them to hit civilians (Guy Fawkes tried to at least blow up Parliament instead of eg a bistro) and it never really went out of style. The political motivations vary but extremists like them some bombs.

In all seriousness, under any other President this guy would've been sent to Gitmo and the FBI would be engaged in a nationwide roundup of right-wing extremists while the President gave a solemn speech condemning political violence on TV right about now. Trump, of course, won't do that because he would like nothing more than for Hillary Clinton to be blown up.

In all seriousness, I don't remember any other political extremists being sent to Gitmo or nationwide roundups after domestic political violence. I remember Bill Clinton after the Oklahoma City bombing bravely saying he wanted people to stop using the phrase "government bureaucrat," but was there a roundup of right-wing extremists that I missed? Or are Donald Trump and Bill Clinton the same person? Maybe the Oklahoma City bombing wasn't as serious as this?
