All politicians have flaws. But somehow it's magnified when dealing with female leaders because of that sexist idealized view we have of women, we don't want female leaders to have flaws we'd be willing to overlook in men. Gargh! This is precisely why we are very likely to get a female Vice-President in 2020, and not an actual female President, even though by logic any female Vice-President deserves the top job if she must be prepared to assume it someday. It's because people just are not ready for it. They'll see her as "too flawed, too young" or other sexist buzzwords to show they're only okay with women playing second fiddle and not actually having real power. And that's why I quit voting. If we're that much of a misogynistic, patriarchal country, then I frankly don't care about this place anymore.
What are you complaining about? They crowned Hillary for no real reason.
I guess you have a lot of privilege if you can quit politikcs over something this trivial.

How do... people in government control that? O.o Anymore than the GOP does with regards to Fox News and Breitbart?
You did not see leftist puritanism go up after Trump got elected?
You haven't really answered the question. Even assuming the Culture War you claim is a thing, and that the Left is winning it, how are elected officials in the House responsible for that?

Awesome! So you have more sense than my young Libertarian AnCap friend. And yeah, GOP just wants to control our private lives in other ways. Namely, regulate sex. Dirty, dirty sex. With, like, actual boobs and stuff.
Do they want to do that right now despite some prostitution crusading about backpage.com?
How dare sex workers want to not have to go out and risk getting murdered on the street.

Is the left with it's war on anything icky still on their side?

Democrats won't be exhausted by all the poutrage?
I didn't see as much reeeeaction to this one on either side (but might have missed it). And, well, I've heard of a study to the contrary, but I think a lot of people seem to be more energized by outrage than enervated by it. Forty years from now might be a great time to buy stock in blood pressure medicine, though...
Bitch forty years from now is a great time to stock up on scuba gear and boat houses. Maybe buy up some beachside real estate in Kansas.

Jesus. What a horrible selection. Trump will absolutely wipe the floor with any of them.
Kamala? A California liberal with a suspiciously dark skin color?
Nice to see you finally admitting the Republican party is racist.

Yeah. It's not my problem. Not even voting.
If you do not vote to this time I will personally come to your house and surgically replace your left kidney with a bag full of live bird-eating spiders.

I'm not worried about what the Republican party thinks. Republicans won't be voting for the Democratic nominee no matter what happens.
I'm worried about what Democrats and independents in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Ohio think. And in case you haven't noticed, there's more than a tinge of racism there. Sexism too.
It sucks, but you go to war with the electorate you have, not the electorate you want.
And don't give me this bullshit "it's too early for a woman candidate." If there was no electoral college, she'd have won. I don't want some token female Vice-President either. I want it all or nothing. A female President. And yet your logic would be the electorate is so sexist they'd be just fine with a token female playing second fiddle to the man. Barf.

If all we are left with is the heartland, won't we have a lot fewer blue states? Hmmm...
