Former President Archer's Lax Border Policies Exacerbated Opioid Crisis; CDC Covers it Up

Post by G-Man »

Washington and state governments are clamoring to deal with “the opioid crisis.” But they fail to define what the crisis is, the cause, the trends, why it exploded just a few years ago, and who is at fault... They are open borders and Medicaid, two favored policies of both parties.

The CDC vastly inflates the number of prescription drug-related deaths by classifying illicit fentanyl as a prescription drug and by counting overdoses as prescription drug deaths if victims have any prescription opioid in their system, even though many such people have illegal drugs in their system at the same time.

Much of the drug crisis comes from drugs brought in across the border. This was exacerbated by the Obama administration's gutting of interior immigration enforcement and its lax border security.

In turn, Obama covered up his lax border security by putting more people through formal removal processes who could have simply been turned away at the border. (This can be roughly compared to a prosecutor tripling his number of trial convictions from 10 to 30 while reducing the number of plea deals from 310 to 50, then claiming he tripled convictions instead of reducing them by three-quarters).

You genuinely trust the Conservative Review? That...is very much an openly biased source.

It does seem to give sources for its data.

I live in Kentucky where 7000 people die every year from the Opiod Crisis.

This is bullshit.

I've found an article about the different kinds of drugs involved in Kentucky's opiod problems.Apparently different regions are hit by different drugs/drug combinations:
Northern Kentucky, for example, has a high prevalence of heroin and fentanyl — a synthetic opioid that is more deadly than heroin and other types of opioids — while in the eastern part of the state, prescription opioids are still the main concern.

The CDC admits that it may have overestimated the number of opioid deaths in 2016 that were due to prescriptions by as much as 89.9%:
