Honestly, Applejack was right in this one. Everything about the Pie Family celebration sucks. No amount of beautiful family history makes up for having rocks for dinner and not actually finding the presents somebody got for you.

On the one hand, the point is that it was their tradition and the had their own fun and meaning in them.Fuzzy Necromancer wrote: ↑Wed Nov 28, 2018 11:09 am Honestly, Applejack was right in this one. On the other, recalling Pinky's origin in Rainboom Connection was that the Pie family's lives are excruciatingly dull that she became this perpetually chipper party monster to brighten them up.

I approve of the trend of referring to Celestia as the God-Emperor.
Re: MLP Thanksgiving Show
Pinkie Pride is an episode I've used to try and convert friends into followers of the show.
I mean "one of the main characters finds her soul mate in Weird Al" is a great sales pitch to nerds of a certain age.
Didn't take, but dammit I tried.
Honestly I think Pinkie Pride is the only of these four I'm a particular fan of, and that one solely because of the cameo. Best Night Ever is fairly weak, especially on the songs, compared to the other Season Finales, even if it's perfectly fine as a stand-alone episode, and both Hearthswarming episodes are... fine? Just fine.

I dunno, I mean just because the ruler of the nation is a millennia-old being who moves the heavens by her will isn't... um... OK, maybe it is a good reason to call her that.Hero_Of_Shadows wrote: ↑Wed Nov 28, 2018 9:38 pm I approve of the trend of referring to Celestia as the God-Emperor.

Yeah but that fun and meaning doesn't change that pie family traditions all suck dead sheep ass.Chaos Sepher wrote: ↑Wed Nov 28, 2018 1:45 pmOn the one hand, the point is that it was their tradition and the had their own fun and meaning in them.Fuzzy Necromancer wrote: ↑Wed Nov 28, 2018 11:09 am Honestly, Applejack was right in this one. Enjoy all these episodes, with Pinkie Pride and the fantastic performance of Weird Al as the best of the bucnh. I'm looking forward to Chuck covering more episodes with Maude. I wonder what he thought of the Pony versions of Neal Page and Del Griffith from Planes, Trains, and Automobiles being in the background of Hearthbreakers.
