Like i said.
I quote almost anything if it makes sense or i find it useful.
Yeah, confirmation that you've never talked to a queer person offline in your flipping life.Slash Gallagher wrote: ↑Fri Nov 30, 2018 12:16 pmThis way of glorification of gayness is PC Culture and PC culture is dominant at the moment. It's satisfying to see some progress, but the idea that queer representation, or 'pc culture', or whatever, is actually going to be able to seriously challenge the status quo is so unlikely that worrying about it going too far is ridiculous. Certainly not in my lifetime.Slash Gallagher wrote: ↑Fri Nov 30, 2018 9:57 amOh you are really wrong unless you can get completely dominate the Internet, erase art from before 2013 and books, take away guns from everyone...
PC culture could fuck your life up on the other hand.Fuzzy Necromancer wrote: ↑Fri Nov 30, 2018 8:21 pmYeah, confirmation that you've never talked to a queer person offline in your flipping life.Slash Gallagher wrote: ↑Fri Nov 30, 2018 12:16 pmThis way of glorification of gayness is PC Culture and PC culture is dominant at the moment. Let me tell you, as a genuine, certified queer, that I will NEVER get tired of gayness. You could turn every show gay from now until 2059 and I'd be pleased with it.
And "glorification of gayness"? Really? It's just that we aren't all forced into the closet and crawling with self hatred and get SOME representation that doesn't end in tragic death because Bury Your Gays.
You have over 90% of all the media now, completely straight, with every blessed character a cishet, and you would begrudge us scraps of representation because you are afraid that somehow, maybe, it'll eventually lead to you feeling like a minority.
Why is this deep and sudden need fo straightness not be normative? What are the benefits of changing that?Yukaphile wrote: ↑Fri Nov 30, 2018 8:56 pm How are we glorifying gay people when it's simply normalizing them, and that's a long process? There's still some stigma to a lot of areas. Like you really won't see Rey in the Star Wars movies have a relationship with another girl. Even if you support gay rights, that would still probably under the definition of "kink" in most people's minds while het is seen as normal. Gotta change that. I also agree with Fuzzy, I wouldn't be tired of gay representation if it was all we had.
Why should i trust the people pushing it that they won't "otherize" people themselves?Yukaphile wrote: ↑Fri Nov 30, 2018 9:24 pm It stops "otherizing" LGBT community, and it maybe means less hate crimes. All that stuff subtly and unconsciously influences our children, and they retain it. Maybe it would mean more bisexuals in the closet would be more open to explore their sexuality to fullest flower if we did so. And it should be about giving them the freedom to do so on their terms.
Spelling it out further and more clearly. To you, "Straightness" is good and normal. Queers are just weirdo deviants. Any representation for us is the same as "glorifying" our lifestyle.Slash Gallagher wrote: ↑Fri Nov 30, 2018 9:13 pmPC culture could fuck your life up on the other hand.Fuzzy Necromancer wrote: ↑Fri Nov 30, 2018 8:21 pmYeah, confirmation that you've never talked to a queer person offline in your flipping life.Slash Gallagher wrote: ↑Fri Nov 30, 2018 12:16 pmThis way of glorification of gayness is PC Culture and PC culture is dominant at the moment.
