Re: She-Ra and the Princesses of Power
He probably means a woman "falsely" accusing a man of rape could get his career destroyed, ruin that poor man, with no evidence. Because as we all know, she could easily go to court, get her DNA tested, and find justice, correct? That ignores that rape kits are sometimes discarded by police, and that the victim might just not wanna be in the same room with her attacker. And most importantly, that he might be guilty. But we gotta focus on the real victims in all this, huh? Teh poor menz.

Yuka, don't give him prompts he can argue with. Let's just see what he thinks in his own words.

No it's not but that is what current captains of the culture want.Fuzzy Necromancer wrote: ↑Fri Nov 30, 2018 10:11 pmSpelling it out further and more clearly. To you, "Straightness" is good and normal. Queers are just weirdo deviants. Any representation for us is the same as "glorifying" our lifestyle.Slash Gallagher wrote: ↑Fri Nov 30, 2018 9:13 pmPC culture could fuck your life up on the other hand.Fuzzy Necromancer wrote: ↑Fri Nov 30, 2018 8:21 pmYeah, confirmation that you've never talked to a queer person offline in your flipping life.Slash Gallagher wrote: ↑Fri Nov 30, 2018 12:16 pmThis way of glorification of gayness is PC Culture and PC culture is dominant at the moment. Undeservedly so but it is dominant.MissKittyFantastico wrote: ↑Fri Nov 30, 2018 11:52 amWell... yeah, that's what I've been saying (apart from the hyperbole, and the gun bit, which doesn't really apply to Australia). It's satisfying to see some progress, but the idea that queer representation, or 'pc culture', or whatever, is actually going to be able to seriously challenge the status quo is so unlikely that worrying about it going too far is ridiculous. Certainly not in my lifetime.Slash Gallagher wrote: ↑Fri Nov 30, 2018 9:57 amOh you are really wrong unless you can get completely dominate the Internet, erase art from before 2013 and books, take away guns from everyone...
Let me tell you, as a genuine, certified queer, that I will NEVER get tired of gayness. You could turn every show gay from now until 2059 and I'd be pleased with it.
And "glorification of gayness"? Really? It's just that we aren't all forced into the closet and crawling with self hatred and get SOME representation that doesn't end in tragic death because Bury Your Gays.
You have over 90% of all the media now, completely straight, with every blessed character a cishet, and you would begrudge us scraps of representation because you are afraid that somehow, maybe, it'll eventually lead to you feeling like a minority.
Why is this deep and sudden need fo straightness not be normative? What are the benefits of changing that?Yukaphile wrote: ↑Fri Nov 30, 2018 8:56 pm How are we glorifying gay people when it's simply normalizing them, and that's a long process? There's still some stigma to a lot of areas. Like you really won't see Rey in the Star Wars movies have a relationship with another girl. Even if you support gay rights, that would still probably under the definition of "kink" in most people's minds while het is seen as normal. Gotta change that. I also agree with Fuzzy, I wouldn't be tired of gay representation if it was all we had.
Or forget it, i did not say anything outlandish.Fuzzy Necromancer wrote: ↑Fri Nov 30, 2018 10:12 pmEveryone, please, PLEASE remember this any time Slash Gallagher posts anything in the news forum.Slash Gallagher wrote: ↑Fri Nov 30, 2018 10:11 pmWhy should i trust the people pushing it that they won't "otherize" people themselves?Yukaphile wrote: ↑Fri Nov 30, 2018 9:24 pm It stops "otherizing" LGBT community, and it maybe means less hate crimes. All that stuff subtly and unconsciously influences our children, and they retain it. Maybe it would mean more bisexuals in the closet would be more open to explore their sexuality to fullest flower if we did so. And it should be about giving them the freedom to do so on their terms.
Anyone, that is how otherizing works.
Trough HR, if you gain prominence and someone lies about you...TGLS wrote: ↑Fri Nov 30, 2018 11:10 pmPlease explain how.Slash Gallagher wrote: ↑Fri Nov 30, 2018 9:13 pmPC culture could fuck your life up on the other hand.
That is just one scenario.

You shouldn't. That's human nature, and it's worth calling out if it happens.Slash Gallagher wrote: ↑Fri Nov 30, 2018 10:11 pm Why should I trust the people pushing it that they won't "otherize" people themselves?
But that's not what is happening. The majority of people asking for not being othered... just want to not be othered.

That Princess Prom episode was one of the gayest things I've ever seen. It was glorious.
Dude, don't even bother arguing with Slash. All he's doing is regurgitating tired alt-right talking points.Deledrius wrote: ↑Sat Dec 01, 2018 2:43 pmYou shouldn't.
