I just started watching the show, having just finished episode 15 of season 1.

There are other words that try to play with the line between Fantasy and Sci-Fi, but this one is doing that, it's simply full Sci-Fi madness and full Fantasy madness both being thrown at each other creating a wonderfully entertaining Melodrama.

I've now seen seasons 1 and 2 and the movie.

The Movie involved a Space Elevator which should interest Chuck.

I actually think you'd be good seeing the movie after only season 1, I don't think anything really not introduced till season 2 is relevant.

I do seriously think this would be the best Anime franchise for Linkara. For the first two seasons of each show at least.

Only ever watched the first two seasons about a decade ago, the second season was a bit all over the place.
Not really interested in the third season though.
I think the spin-off "A Certain Scientific Railgun" is a better series overall.

I seriously think this would be Linkara's favorite Anime, as a similar kind of Teen Titans fan I think this show would really appeal to him.
