I'm really looking forward to seeing where she goes when we get more episodes, she's a goof but also seemingly capable (she basically does the work in Princess Prom after all, while Catra takes decoy duty), and given the writing in general I think there's a pretty strong chance 'sidekick' isn't all she's ever going to be. I certainly don't think it was just a matter of plot contrivance that she's a princess and has a power stone, she's going to matter big time down the road is my guess. Quite a surprise for a character that, if we're being honest, I really didn't see much point to in the original (I mean, she was basically just a generic thug, only with bad eye shadow and a Brooklyn mobster accent).
Scorpia is the most adorable thing in the world and I love her so much it hurts.

What does it say about a series when you are more interested in the villains than the heroes?

After The Battle of Brightmoon all I wanted to know is what happened back at the Frightzone. I knew it was going to be a happy ending for She-ra and the Princess Alliance, but I wanted to see what happened when Catra, Scorpia and Entrapta reported back to Hordak.

Sometimes it just says that the series has really cool villains, like with Avatar.

This time Catra's not going to be shielded from punishment by Shadow-weaver stealing her thunder. =s Lucky thing she has Scorpia to comfort her.

Overall, I give it a 7.5/10. This could be as good as Avatar but just needs a bit of polish and a little more distinctive visual flair; so far it's basically Avatar minus the wuxia influence visually and that doesn't work quite so well.

Yeah this series reminds me of Avatar, in ways both good and bad.

Good in that you have complex characters going through fairly simple plots, this I think is why adults like Avatar as much as kids. I introduced my nephew to Avatar and he loved it but there was a number of subtleties that he did not understand but his dad did.

Bad because its not quite breaking the pattern of a conventional cartoon show. This is why I think the first season of Avatar is the weakest because it falls into the usual traps, and that is what happens in She-ra. Most notable is when She-ra has to talk Perfuma and her people into fighting the Horde. I know it supposed to be a moral for the kids to learn but they handle it in very cliche manner. The same lesson works a little better with the kitchen staff in Dryl because you are just talking about three people as apposed to an entire nation.
