Andromeda is like Inquisition in that it severely lacks the series signature flavor.

Inquisition lacked the Dark Fantasy elements and humor of previous entries as well as relentless cynicism.

Andromeda was neither WIld West enough to feel like the frontier or settled enough to feel like exploring a new civilization.

I actually like Inquisition and it was actually my first step into the world of Dragon Age and I loved it. IMHO It was well told, had some really great character and it made me feel like a real ruler. For Me DAI is to DA what DS9 is to Star Trek. It Is different from the main series and I completely understand why that would bother some fans but much like DS9 I felt it was still very well done and I do feel that a series Should shake up it's Status Quo and formula every once in a while to keep things fresh.

The issue with MEA is that it's, well, badly written and feels more like a parody of Mass Effect instead of the real thing. DAI is, IMHO, very well written and still felt like the series when I started played the other two games, sure they were a lot darker but it still felt like DAI did so it wasn't jarring for me.

For me, it was kinda like the difference between A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back, or the Original Trilogy and the Thrawn Trilogy or even the Prequels/Clone Wars. They're all very different but all are unmistakably Star Wars much like how DAI maybe a bit more lighthearted but is still very much Dragon Age.

With the Disney Era one issue I'm having with it is that it's trying to hard to be the Original Trilogy but Darker. It has Han and Leia get a divorce, their one and only kid becomes a Darth Vader fanboy, Luke considered killing his nephew in his sleep and nothing the heroes did mattered in the end and if anything, they made the situation worse.

And it does look like DA is going to go back to the Dark Fantasy of the first two games given what we've seen in the comics that are supposedly leading into DA4 which doesn't shy away from the darker elements the series is known for.

So like DS9 DAI was, in my opinion, a nice break from the usual set up before we go back to the darker elements.

Hearing of Inquisition reminds me of all the times I saw the ads for it preceding Blip videos. I sure do miss Blip format.

Well I disagree but that's the internet.

I loved THE FORCE AWAKENS and hated THE LAST JEDI which seemed like a sequel designed to crap on the previous sequel.

According to recent articles; Rian Johnson's next trilogy is confirmed cancelled, Lego Star Wars day has been cancelled, the next Lego Star Wars film is tenuous, toy sales of both Disney and original Star Wars characters are down dramatically, the Obi Wan film is tenuous, the Star wars spin offs in general have been mostly cancelled, there is talk of resetting the franchise whatever that may entail...
And none of this was true before TLJ and Solo. Its not just opinion now that these films sucked. Its provable fact.

Solo's problem is even if the movie was good 'its decent' the sheer amount of reshoots budget problems meant it was never gonna make back money and the fact the advertisement was so low key

You know its almost funny, Disney's reasoning behind getting rid of GL is Gl's idea was too Ambitious it was about pushing a several decade old story forward

What Disney wanted 'and from the amount of THIS IS HOW YOU STAR WARS videos by so called Fans" what the Fans wanted was something Safe and drenched in the OT

and thats EXACTLY what TFA was outside of a few bits

Safe, Marketable and a guaranteed hit

then TLJ happened and all benefit of the doubt has gone out the window, its almost like a reverse of the PT, General loathing till a" It could have been better but wasn't the Death of cinema guys gawd"

with TLJ being praised with defenses that have long since crumbled

I can take apart The Last Jedi in a single sentence and dare anyone to disagree.

"The Last Jedi's failure is that it's a sequel dedicated to talking about the dangers of nostalgia and looking back on the past in a sequel bought by a corporation hoping to capitalize on nostalgia as well as looking back on the past."

Nevermind that Star Wars, itself, was a genre throwback and nostalgia for WW2 movies as well as Flash Gordon.

I’d peg Last Jedi as a movie about the futility of upholding the structures of the past and the need to learn from the past while placing faith in the next generation to forge a better future.

In which light the vocal vitriol directed at the film demonstrates the need for that message very well.

I'd say it proves the need to keep Legends canon. Give the fans a little something so it doesn't feel as if you're raping the franchise for profit.
