Especially seeing as most undocumented immigrants come in through the ocean, and the Pineapple Pinochet slashed coast guard funding.
So this 1980s made-for-TV movie villain is making sure that countless government employees don't get their paychecks because the democrats won't fork over enough money (they aren't even outright denying him border wall funding because they're still weak and wishy-washy) for his giant vanity project that he promised Mexico would pay for.

Which, Mexico won't. So he's going to stick it to the taxpayer. How were his voters dumb enough to think he'd convince them to do so? It's massive spending no one can afford. LOL. Only with a surplus like the kind we had 19 years ago could you pull that off. And even then it'd be a waste of money, when you should invest in education and worker protection and stuff.

We can't possibly afford $5 billion on a wall, but we can afford to let people who can't support themselves come in here, have an anchor baby, and get on welfare - because of MUH POEM!

There's a poll that says that 47 % of people think Trump's responsible and 33 % think the democrats are.

That leaves about 20% who blame the Republicans lol

..What mirror universe?
Re: Neelix causes another government shutdown because he wants a bigger border wall
Well, it's actually about 7% who blame congressional republicans. The rest blame "other".

Re: Neelix causes another government shutdown because he wants a bigger border wall
Did you miss the part where the wall Won't Work, doesn't make policy sense, and is in fact a collosal vanity project for the Tangerine Idi Amin? I'm also willing to guess that the amount of refugees our not-terribly-generous social safety net that most of them can't access won't cost anything with the word "billion" in it.
I wasn't gonna get into this, but the Republicans love to act like we can't afford anything until it's something they want. We can't afford food stamps, we can't afford public education, we can't afford single payer healthcare, we can't afford to switch over to green power sources, we can't afford anything. But say the word "military" or "tax cuts" and suddenly they're spending like drunken sailors and it's a full jubilee with blank checks.
And they're expanding the definition of "The only things that we are allowed to spend money on" to include fruitface's giant wasteful ineffective vanity project wall because he throws a tantrum when people don't agree to that.

The poll was "Which group/individual has the most blame here". The answers were: 47% chose Trump, 33% chose Congressional Democrats, 7% chose Congressional Republicans, and 13% picked an option that wasn't those three. Probably, some of that 13% is "I dunno" and a much smaller amount is other choices. On the other hand, the poll may have discarded the dunnos, leaving many people who blame Bernie Sanders (or Angus King, or Mexico, or the Brexiteers, or Obama, or Clinton, or the Trilateral Commission, or Chuck, or whatever)
