Appreciation is due, Jonathan101.

No, actually I'm talking about the original Jedi Order, though I guess that extends to the one he tried to "cult"ivate (you see what I did there). And yeah, sorry, I do find it interesting. Maybe I do wanna be a french fry. Bear in mind though that this verges on ironic satire (I think) and intended character flaw in Luke. After the debacle with Ren he started to find contempt in the order, but even had trepidation in actually burning down the temple.

Ironic satire in one of the main trilogy movies...

Something that defines Luke Skywalker.

In Star Wars...?

At keast the fucker hesitated.

Be a french fry but understand what that does to you. Current Star Wars is bad for both Star Wars and the civic culture of a nuclear power. It is amazing what i am witnessing.

I doubt it. Just wait for the force projections in IX - XII.

And that point about him hesitating, what difference does that make? Also he's not the one that does it; Yoda is. So why does Yoda get off scot clean in this?

Meh. Considering how much troll control the production team fielded. How Skywalker himself walked back his comments. I'm pretty sure foots are being put down.

Troll is not a legitimate word in my eyes, but what?

My prediction is that ep 9 will be FULL damage control. Someone wll have made notes of the common criticisms of ep8 and will rewrite ep 9 to try and cushion as many of them as possible. My predictions based on this: IF they can convince Mark Hamill to return, we will get a flashback to Luke, Kylo, Snoke and the Knights of Ren. Not a long one, maybe a couple of minutes, but we will leave ep 9 knowing more about what happened between 6 and 7 than we do now. And if Luke returns as a ghost, he will also be FAR more like the younger Luke than the cowardly old man he grew into. I think Rose will do a Jar Jar and be seen in only one or two scenes, and I have a strong feeling that the Force kids if they are seen at all will not be kids thanks to a harsh time skip, because this is FULL damage control and everyone hated kid Anakin.

And above all, it'll be safe and by the numbers. NOTHING will subvert our expectations this time around.

Only thing that really comes to mind is Kelly Marie Tran's harassment. Though I didn't follow that news development so closely.

People clapped back at it on Twitter and one person on this forum that it was just people being critical of the movie, though that's hogwash considering actors aren't liable for the written characters they portray. To say that fanboys acting toxic across different franchises is at most anecdotal is a misjudgement imo.

Staying quiet about something doesn't at all resemble being sheepish about the direction the franchise has been taken.
