Second only to Empire Strikes Back, and that's only due to the pacing issues.

I think that Rey's story is an interesting counterpoint to Luke's in ESB. Especially in how both deal with the nature of the force. The B plot is weaker than ESB and could use trimming.

Someone wll have made notes of the common criticisms of ep8 and will rewrite ep 9 to try and cushion as many of them as possible. My predictions based on this: IF they can convince Mark Hamill to return, we will get a flashback to Luke, Kylo, Snoke and the Knights of Ren. Not a long one, maybe a couple of minutes, but we will leave ep 9 knowing more about what happened between 6 and 7 than we do now. And if Luke returns as a ghost, he will also be FAR more like the younger Luke than the cowardly old man he grew into. I think Rose will do a Jar Jar and be seen in only one or two scenes, and I have a strong feeling that the Force kids if they are seen at all will not be kids thanks to a harsh time skip, because this is FULL damage control and everyone hated kid Anakin.

And above all, it'll be safe and by the numbers. NOTHING will subvert our expectations this time around.
I don't think the force kid will be in it at all because he's not being set up as a character, but an example of how despite barely coming out of this alive the resistance is bringing hope to the galaxy as well as an example of the more egalitarian view of the force the film takes.

The senile mouse is slowly hearing that bloody message.
I doubt it. Just wait for the force projections in IX - XII.
Disney got less ambitious after TLJ...

Kathleen K went radio silent...

So...
Meh. Considering how much troll control the production team fielded. How Skywalker himself walked back his comments. I'm pretty sure foots are being put down.

Troll is not a legitimate word in my eyes, but what?
Only thing that really comes to mind is Kelly Marie Tran's harassment. Though I didn't follow that news development so closely.

People clapped back at it on Twitter and one person on this forum that it was just people being critical of the movie, though that's hogwash considering actors aren't liable for the written characters they portray. To say that fanboys acting toxic across different franchises is at most anecdotal is a misjudgement imo.

Staying quiet about something doesn't at all resemble being sheepish about the direction the franchise has been taken.
Can a brother get some quantification? You can be in a Red State city, post your gun picture on social media and people might say horrible things about you...

It's the INTERNETS.

The idea that liberals don't like guns is vanity. Can you feel that?

Really? I mean, not all liberals dislike guns, but there seems to be a pretty clear tendency among those now called liberals to dislike guns.

I think it's just the fact that unless you're a classical liberal, the left doesn't really embrace guns so overtly as people on the right do. Progressives with lofty ideals can seem pretty anti-gun, but you get that same sense of them no matter what topic they breach upon (and those people in particular are conversely all the right ever talks about). There are plenty of people as far as I can tell that point fingers at the NRA for their questionable lobbying, and also point out the fact that gun violence in America compared to other developed countries is atrociously high. And to be honest, pro guns rights activists always as far as I can tell misshape the narrative to the tune of The Democrats wholly trying to take all guns away from everybody. And that's actually applied to classically liberal pro-gun citizens on the left as well.

In its purest sense the word ''liberal'' means ''free'' and can be traced all the way back to 1375. Being free to own a gun is liberal. What we have today though is actually a philosophy called ''social liberalism'' or ''progressiveism'' which is the thing that comes attached with concepts like socialism, being pro-abortion, and yes, being anti-gun. That is why you will increasingly hear people use the term ''classical liberalism'' to distance themselves from its newer form. And make no mistake, the two are very different.

The NRA is full of Fudd-funded compromise these says anyway. Kind of funny to see it still made out to be the devil, though, basically because they aren't for a complete ban.

The focus was on the Internets and the relationshuip of all progressives and liberals to guns was not mentioned.
