I mean I'm very liberal and a huge fan of guns. Hell until they put out that ad that was two steps shy of "arm yourself against the liberal hordes" I was planning to join the NRA once I was in a more settled place in my life.BridgeConsoleMasher wrote: ↑Sun Jan 13, 2019 10:56 pm The idea that liberals don't like guns is vanity. Yeah I'm really wondering if there is an anti-gun rhetoric even in modern American liberalism discourse. I know that there's a contrarian mode of thought that pushes more proficient police operation in lieu of embracing everybody in the community motivated to get a gun. Though that doesn't seem very mutually exclusive. A good majority of anti-gun rhetoric that I remember I believe comes from people from another country, and honestly I don't find myself blaming them too much. Of course there's probably plenty of people in the states that aren't really for guns, but I don't think that bends into left/right socioeconomics much.Draco Dracul wrote: ↑Mon Jan 14, 2019 3:03 amI mean I'm very liberal and a huge fan of guns. I see classical liberals as not being anti-gun, but progressives seem to favor far more restriction on them and, unless I'm very much mistaken, seem more likely to reject them on principle. See the Supergirl show on CW. Again, not all progressives & etc.BridgeConsoleMasher wrote: ↑Mon Jan 14, 2019 1:11 amI think it's just the fact that unless you're a classical liberal, the left doesn't really embrace guns so overtly as people on the right do. Progressives with lofty ideals can seem pretty anti-gun, but you get that same sense of them no matter what topic they breach upon (and those people in particular are conversely all the right ever talks about). There are plenty of people as far as I can tell that point fingers at the NRA for their questionable lobbying, and also point out the fact that gun violence in America compared to other developed countries is atrociously high. And to be honest, pro guns rights activists always as far as I can tell misshape the narrative to the tune of The Democrats wholly trying to take all guns away from everybody. And that's actually applied to classically liberal pro-gun citizens on the left as well.Darth Wedgius wrote: ↑Sun Jan 13, 2019 11:54 pmReally? Progressives seem to only be concerned about guns as it has to do with mass shootings. General gun violence doesn't seem like something that's touched upon very persistently, and you do get a bunch of people that are aggravated by how quickly the public dismisses the issue of guns until it happens again. So yeah, there's an awareness to it, but technically those voices are silent in this interim.Darth Wedgius wrote: ↑Mon Jan 14, 2019 5:26 amI see classical liberals as not being anti-gun, but progressives seem to favor far more restriction on them and, unless I'm very much mistaken, seem more likely to reject them on principle. I haven't seen too much of Supergirl on CW, I've watched a bit of this and that on Netflix, but the traditional network TV aesthetic gets dated for me. Netflix MCU on the other hand I've found to be rather conservative appropriate. In The Punisher Karen Page gets exhibited as a pro-gun advocate and the politician she debates is made to be a sniveling hypocritical Democrat. AV Club ripped into the episode for not being very accurate on the current gun controversy, but I don't remember it being as bad as they were making it out to be. There's lots of little nuances in Netflix MCU that kinda clue me into its conservative appropriate sentiments.

Oh you're gonna have to unpack qauntification a bit. I don't believe KMT was being overly sensitive when she left IG. Yeah you post a gun pic or something, but you're SG as far as I can tell. You're not the corniest character in TLJ.
And I'm really sorry, but her character was really corny. Obviously not as bumbling as Jar jar, but I wasn't following.
