Oh it goes beyond that given that the ancestors of Cheetahs originated in North America and a modern Tiger like Tigertron wouldn't be around yet, etc.
It's typical cartoon chronology where it's all over the place, but that is to both serve the plot and to make it have a sense of timelessness.
There's also the fact that in the first episode they arrived at Earth by some sort of time portal and the whole Optimus Prime nearly dying that cause a time storm, both of which might have screwed with the space-time continuum around the planet.
Well the initial portal most likely not since it's implied to be a semi common method of FTL for them. The Vok weapon and its destruction (which sent the time travel wave and left random anomalies like the one that brings in Depth Charge) and the later timestorm likely messed stuff up.
The is a good reason for the strange location for Bengal Tigers in this episode. Tigertron wasn't originally suppose to be Tigertron but Wolffang. Budget concerns forced the change (pretty this didn't happen with Blackarachnia as she was always intended to be a spider) but parts of model work were later used for Silverbolt.
Also, Airazor didn't really disappear after she was introduced. In the remaining 11 episodes of the first season she appeared in 9 of them. Though I agreed that we didn't get a lot of chances to know her especially with her basically not being in the second season at all.
Airazor wasn't killed then. She and Tigatron went off to explore immediately afterward, which conveniently removed them from the plot just in time for the Fuzors to show up. They don't show up again until halfway through the season, just to get abducted by the Vok and not be mentioned again until the tailend of season 3, be fused into Tigerhawk, and then die two episodes later.
Funny, I'm spending the next few months requests on the Dinobot episodes, and the arc episodes, all the way to call of Hero. And it happens today Takara announces a masterpiece Beast Wars Dinobot. I picked the right time.

Tigertron and Airrazor were shipped out at the start of season two for the same reason a couple of the Predacons were quickly and unceremoniously killed off at the start of season 2.... Hasbro demanded the show only focus on *new* toys, and had a problem whenever resources were thrown at anything else such as a cameo from the original Optimus Prime or Ravage.
The people on the show insisted at least *some* characters remain the same from the start of the series for some consistency and coherence, so Rhinox and Waspinator got to survive.... and they really had to fight for Waspinator apparently. (It was either him or Scorponok, they chose Waspy.)
Similarly in season 3 they introduced Tigerhawk, and that wasn't planned as a toy, so they had to very quickly be rid of him too... and then Hasbro changed their minds and turned around and made it a toy.
As for the reveal that it was Earth all along? The show creators didn't figure that out till season 2. They were making up a lot of the bits as they went along and they didn't actually know much of anything about the old series when they started, and had no idea what can of worms they unleashed when they brought in Starscream and mentioned Unicron in one episode until fans informed them just what a crazy thing they had done.
